Maksim

Was it really necessary to post this so many times ...

This is the correct topic area for this kind of thread.

It will show up in New Posts.

As you have more Mod rights then I do please delete the other unnecessary duplicate postings.

I thought you would know better than to spam these forums. A single posting (which you had done already) would have sufficed.

Jimbo,

My gallery has photos of several different genres of miniatures.

I posted in forums where there are folks that enjoy those different miniatures genres.

Therefore, all of those places I posted are the "correct' places for that announcement about miniature photos that would be of interest to those areas.

Epic in Epic, moderns in wargames, WWII in wargames, miniatures in miniatures, announcements in news, etc., etc.

Not everyone uses the New Posts feature and if they do, how is that so bad?

I don't complain when New Posts shows up with 8 to 12 Epic Contests at the top of the list and it shows up as having activity every time someone votes on it. No problem for me. ?

I'm tolerant of that.

Jimbo, I thought about this request from you and I decline. I also want to point out that I politely decline and with respect for you.

If you really want to delete a few of my posts because they announce things more than you want to hear them, I'm not going to stop you or repost them.

You also called the posts "unnecessary duplicate postings" to which I reply later in this post.

*** Jimbo, what is SPAM to you? ***

SPAM to me is porn, unwanted advertisements, rude annoucements usually of a sexual nature, political overtures and all of those things share one thing in common:

They are off-topic.

My posts announced the opening of a miniatures gallery ona forum dedicated to gaming and miniatures. That's very much on-topic.

A single posting would have sufficed for you... but not for other gallery members who don't have your expertise in navigating the forum or don't use the forums the same way you do.

And I know this for a fact because I was just chatting with someone the other day ago about this and they asked me why I didn't post a certain annoucnement in their favorite forum. I explained that they could see all the new announcements by using the New Posts feature, but that persone xplained that they didn't like using that feature and only checked the forums they liked best. And it was for people like that that i harmlessly posted my announcement on a few different boards where the annuncement was on-topic.

In that light, my posts were not "unnecessary duplicate postings" anymore than anything you post is. The posts serve a function and it's necessary for some folks... although not all.

What I'm not trying to do, Jimbo, is make you angry.

What I am trying to do is to rationally explain why my posting my miniatures gallery announcement more than once is harmless and short of adding another item to the New Posts queue shouldn't be a bother to anyone. I also explained that a very large number of other items can add to the the New Posts queue without adding new content such as polls for Epic contests or other sorts of posts.

At the end of the day, we've known each other for a long time and we're friends. This doesn't matter.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I would like to jump in here quickly. I would also like to point out that it was actually Maksim that asked me about this thread, a credit to fair play. This is a difficult issue.

I am not going to delete or edit any posts made, however I would appreciate a voluntary restraint. I think that it is reasonable to ask that Maksim (and other members who this concerns) restrict duplicate posts to one in his personal blog thread, and a second in any other forum. This should allow him to keep a copy of his posts in the one place, and also to pick one board which is most relevant to his post.

Is this acceptible to both of you guys... actually, dont answer that.    Lets just get back to talking about 6mm goodies!

Thanks.
