Hi, just a warning to the webmasters among us. I've seen a large amount of WebWorm stuff going about lately, basically shutting down sites, including Red Star Games. Not exactly sure how it's going around, etc. But just a heads-up to be aware of it. Cheers, Freshmetal |

Um. Yeah. There's a LOT of it going on at the mo (i'm working at a hosting company, so I'm seeing the results). Ikonboard (like this one) and PhpBB are the ones being hit most. It's an exploit reliant on the version of PHP in use on the server. It's really just another exploit of vulnerable scripts, but i think it's one thats spreading itself when it compromises a site. That'd explain the numbers hit and that the thing having a generation number on the overwrites. Sites are mostly just getting overwritten, but it's still something you don't need to happen. That this one hasn't been hit yet is a good sign that it's secure, but i'm hoping the admins have gone through the Ikonboard site to make sure it is. |
