I think that was the point. Jervis sees FW as a better chance of supporting future efforts then he does his own "group" now. Further his comments about why he was dropping the FW as a collector mini only had a lot of insight into the politics as well. Clearly he was lead to believe the GW stores would support the Epic line when he made that rule. He clearly no longer is expecting support in any way from them.

Hi!

Agreed. You have to feel sorry for JJ, everything he tries to do for epic is blocked by the parent company on some vile way.

I bet if JJ leaned on FW hard we'd get some Necrons, SOB's and lots of other stuff. I would love to find out how are epic FW sales doing.....

The sales must be quite good, otherwise they would stop selling them.

At the recent UK GamesDay FW sold off a lot of their busts, as according to the person I spoke to they were not selling well.

Another "poor" seller was the Warhammer scenery, notably the Undead Egyptian scenery - which I really like, but actually never bought.

My guess is it does okay to well.

Hi!

Good to know. I hope their epic sales continue to stimulate them to do more.

I bet the grey knights have given sales a boost in recent days. :)

I've been magnetizing everything. It really improves storage, care and handling and is well worth the effort put into it.

Shalom,

I have to agree with Maksim, the local guy who bought Tau has based all his vehicles. Gives him three advantages.

First, they look good because they look like they are above the ground.

Second, they have some weight to them and do not ?brush? off the table etc. so easy.

Last, they stick down to the metal box he uses to carry them in and thus travel better.

So you're basing your vehicles on magnets?

I was considering just using the Warmaster bases, like Tuffskull has done.

Hi Dysartes,

It's very easy to buy 20mmx40mm steel metal bases to glue on the bottom of those Warmaster bases.

20mmx20mm for the old squares is also easy to find.

I cut custom steel paper bases for the newer E-40k rectangles.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Well, when Epic came out forgeworld had a delay on deliveries of a month or more (I was one of the first so only had to wait 2 weeks :) ). If they have any desire to make cash (and I always wonder about them) they should see this would be a nice little earner.

As to firesales - nope. :( Epic has been made on a supply meeting demand basis (hence the constant shortages of various bits). They don't stockpile anything - so no stock to flog off cheaply :( The happy days of the EpicA sale (some GW stores were literally giving it away, wish I had bought everything I saw now) are not to be repeated.

What I don't get is not trying an independant company. Sell them a licence and let them make models. Risk transfered, only make licenced types so IP protected. If there was a market then they could deliver to it.

Hi!

Welcome to the forums ChrisHayes! :)

I agree that there will be no fire sales or bargain basement sales for epic this time around. Epic 40k was the last epic "core game" and had the exposure and product availability Epic A has not had (or ever hope to). Therefore there is no excess stock to dump, nor are there independent retailers eager to get rid of stock (since for all practical purposes Epic A is basically a GW only product).

So when it "dies" this time around there will be no "cheap" epic to be had.

Of course, you can still get supplies from the cheapest Epic source available, i.e. Ebay.

Just be sure to pick the "right" auctions (usually the ones where you get a whole army) instead of the "wrong" ones (5 Tarantulas for $30, yeah right....)

I agree, if Epic dies this time, Ebay will be the place to buy.
