Hi All,

Today I went down to my local GW (Meadowhall) for the new WD, and low and behold they are playing Epic:A!!! I was amazed!! Epic:A actually in GW!!!!

I started talking to the guys and they invited me to play a game soon. I then had to explain that I had never played Epic:A before, but they said it was easy to pick up.

Anyway, I even sliped in about epic40k.com and epic40k.co.uk and mentioned the De'Aynes gallery, and one of them said that they had seen it!! I have actuall met someone (other than my mates) that has seen the De'Aynes gallery!!!

Thats All

Cheers

Chris

Hi!

Thats great Chris!

I wish GW would realize that if they actually "push" the game instead of ignoring it, people will actually play it and enjoy it.

This is a step in progress }:)
Now we need more people to do this. First I need 2 painted armies (being 1 out of about 10 E:A players in a 1 hour radius)

This is promising news. I should go to my local GW shop and have a talk with the numbnuts there. I just hate going there. It is right in the middle of a mall. It is also painfully small.  :L

The GW shop nearest to me wasn't even playing BFG. They had a game table set up. 4x8. Took up a quarter of the store. Horribly made. I was embarassed for them. Also, two small tables at each end where some guys were painting. No room at all. One guy who worked there hadn't even heard of epic. I was speachless.  :oo

Hi!

My experiences have been similar to yours in the US, it seems that mentioning epic in one only gets you wierd looks or the "oh that" face, then the GW store attendant quickly forgets you.

Selling has a lot to do with the salesmans enthusiasm, GW will do well to remind them that when Epic A comes out.

I doubt it would make a difference. The dudes I see at these stores aren't career salesmen. They are fricken' mall rats.

In my GW store I know most of the guys, and they are fairly normall to GW stanards :D

They have a specialist games display case with epic mins in it and a small shelf with some BFG ships on it.

Its a small store but well set out.

Cheers

Chris

Not the GW store here. Just three walls of product and the tables in the middle. No display, no charm, no nothing.  :{

Hi!

I've never been to a UK GW store, but from talking to gamers from the UK, they seem to be somewhat different, perhaps larger and the people somewhat more engaged.

I have yet to see a good one in the US.

And yes, the employees are mall rats.

In the UK GW stores are large and small.

The sheffield store (2 GW stores near me! :) ) has three or four large tables and loads and loads of models. I was in there once when the staff started fighting! I think one guy was up the bosses ass and was fairly new, and a older "veteran" of the store were arguing about what to do with the new stock! Very amusing.

They also run a "battle-bunker" where older veteran players can go after the store is closed and play secret games behind closed doors.

Just a little insight to GW UK.

Cheers

GW Ipswich, while it used to be minute and rubbish, has recently relocated to a new site, which is massive- one of the biggest 20 or so in the country, I'm told!

It has a battle bunker too, with seperate rooms for different games- only LOTR, WH and 40K tho :( , it also has modeling rooms and other cool stuff..  The staff are pretty good, and the manager plays BFG and apparantly, Epic Space Marine too!!
