Post subject:  Paint Cases

Hi all,

Just thought I'd post some brief thoughts about Frontier Wargaming's Paint Case since it's great for small scale painting. Also, I added a few things to make it better :)

I was looking for something self contained that I could setup and pack away quickly, as I paint at the desk in my home office. The Paint Case seemed to be the best of the bunch, and it turns out it's a great product. Setup / packing away takes 30 seconds. Its open paint bottle trays can fit various sizes of bottle (no set size holes that only accommodate 1 bottle shape!) There's plenty of storage in usable boxes, and the overall quality is good.

That said, there are a few things that can be added to make it perfect and give me a consistent painting space anywhere I happen to be:

- An A3 cutting matt, trimmed down slightly, stuck to the inside of the lid with double sided sticky pads.

- A 13mm deep fly (fishing) case makes a good wet palette. Hopefully. Haven't tried it yet. 13mm is the exact space you have between the brushes box and the stored LED lamp (if purchased).

- A collapsable water cup. Fits in any box. If it collapses with water in it I'll be pissed, but I'm sure that won't happen...

-I have ordered another box to put under the miniature holders (epic models don't need that much space) so I'll even be able to fit my head magnifyier and lenses in.

Overall a great investment IMO - especially if you don't have a permanent hobby area.

They left a 5mm space between the front of the boxes / carcass and the closed lid, so it's almost like it was made for one... Only not.
