Add on teams cheap too. I can finally get a skaven team with out the massive eBay prices

Wow! I don't remember it being much less than that in the 90s?? I was expecting at least £80 for the box and £30 a team.

I'd made a vow to stick with my old stuff but must admit this is weakening my resolve not to buy the new version!

Apparently the rules are the same as the current ones used in tournaments.

I have all the rules etc but must admit that I would consider other teams at this cost. Wanted a skaven team for years but refuse to pay eBay prices for it.

Maybe they will be nice to the community with the new epic...... hahahahahahaha

I think it's looking pretty good pricewise. Does anyone have any info on how the "Death Zone"-supplements will work? From the official GW-site "season 1" seems to contain stuff that I would expect in the gamebox . Stuff like list of skills, rules and such...

The expansions include the rules etc for additional races I think. If you search on wayland games they seem to have better info than GW

Sounds roughly as 3rd Ed - Deathzone adds league play and extra skills for new teams. Though random even cards are included in the main box this time.

Team options seem to be a bit limited - only 2 (orks/humans) in main box and deathzone adds 4, where as 3rd was 6 teams to start plus 4 in deathzone iirc (?) Guess thats why its tagged "season 1". Sounds like on going support planned then...

The thing that gets me wondering is this part detailing sruff thats in the Death Zone Season 1-book:

"an updated list of skills (a big list) and new game options to try out – Piling On! Dirty Players! Break Tackles! Diving Catches! Really Quite Horrible Mutations! More!"

Arent those basic skills? All other stuff seems fine too me :) just curious on that part. The one thing I would prefer not to happen is being forced to get all seasonbooks just to get the full ruleset.

That Skaventeam is going in my shoppingbasket directly though ;)

Yeah the season rulebooks thing is a bit cheeky - but I think the level of support they are planning will be directly related to the initial sales of the box game and plastics.

Pleasantly surprised that the price of the release is in reach of 'get the kids their first Blood Bowl set for Christmas'. That kindles hope for other specialist games.

That said - I'm a little wary of the 'season' books. On one hand, ongoing support will be nice, but considering there were, what, 20ish teams in the last LRB edition, how many $20+ books will they try to pile on top of the game (and thus ruin all the good work with the initial boxed set price)?

Lets see how much can they squeeze out of a ruleset they were giving away for free only a few years ago.

I'm impressed by the "restraint" they've shown with the initial price but the ongoing drip of extra rules for ££s for any teams bar orcs and humans is a bit nose wrinkling

Do the rules not include for several races?

I thought the extra rule sets were £15 or something for 7 additional races?

Agree about the comments on them being free until recently, but at least they are supporting an older rule set

The initial rulebook only has basic details and rules for Orc and Human teams. The first Deathzone expansion contains extra skills and rules for four new teamsl Dwarfs, Nurgle-chaos, Skaven and Elves.

I'm fairly certain the living rulebook used by the vast majority of BB players, tournies, etc will continue to be used. Any new tweaks or things not found there will likely show up in short order. The real win is the influx of players and greater visibility of this great game. Plus the rumored Pestigors team down the line because as we all know...Nurgle is the best.
