Apparently the giant gun is just what they've redesigned the Quake Cannon to look like. It can also take other Warlord weapons on top instead and presumably we'll see a version of this Quake Cannon as an arm weapon for the Warlord in time too.

We already have it fairly well covered with the Epic Reaver rules. An Epic Reaver with a Quake Cannon and carapace multi lasers.

Haven't had the opportunity to compare the warbringer stats against the Reaver but here's the rules FW released this AM for it. Perhaps someone with a little time can contrast?

Been talking with armiger about it and It's basically a warlord that has cml and clp.

No not really-there are differences beyond the number of weapons. For example the DC at least different:
Reaver: 60 wounds
Warbringer: 65 wounds
Warload: 70 wounds

which would be a DC7 titan, odd as that is.

And I know Warlords are T16 and this is T13 though I don't know how we could reflect that in EA since both are 4+ armor. I know it's as slow as warlord but I think it gets the same CC as a reaver (S13) IIRC. It really IS the mutant offspring of both ;D

In epic terms that's too granular a difference to show up since the only epic difference is basically the one dc. Same speed, armor, vs as a warlord and we can already cover the load out with quake, cml, clp and two arm weapons.

I would disagree with your reasoning but agree with your conclusion. [thumbs up] it's not needed in epic and as there's not a model nor anything especially compelling as a need for a weaker (and presumably cheaper) artillery warlord with far worse FF/CC stats, there is nothing for it to fill.

Anyways not an Epic thread so back on topic.

Anyone here order the new knights yet? Really detest the lancer buy like the chassis.

I’d say it could be well be counted as a Reaver or a Warlord depending on preference. I don’t see the need for new Epic rules as the existing titan rules are quite flexible so it’s covered already.

I see it as filling a handy role as a modern titan model with a larger gun on top though. In my AMTL list I fancy using a Warlord with CCW and Lasburner arms (for the better fire arc to support others) and a Volcano Cannon and Hydra turret as it’s two carapace weapons. I was going to convert an AT Warlord with a Volcano Cannon and a custom AA turret on top but it would have broken modern conventions and this fills my want instead.

I wanna see rules for it. In a modernized titans list, too.

Having a need for something does not necessarily have any bearing on it being built or not, especially in military circles ;)

However, an artillery piece might not be the best investment of points on a 4' x 4' board for AT18. For bigger, Open Play games, on the other hand... Maybe.

I like it simply because (I assume) it will expand the fluff and history of Titans in the 40K universe.

...and because sometimes I need a model regardless of whether it makes sense from a tactical standpoint or not.

Hmmm. What's that little speeder in the foreground?

A conversion, or custom made 3d model for this specific diorama. Sadly enough, no hint that Epic might be returning.

Custom 3d print done by the GW employee who made the diorama (perhaps used the files for the FW 40k speeder and reduced the size). It's a one off and not an indication of Epic.

I realize that this is a bit of stretch for AT18 news, but it does have a titan in it...

Wow - I shall look forward to that. After the false start that was Ultramarines, I think W40k is ready for some on-screen love again.
