Sounds about right, it's a middle finger up to their older collectors and gamers.

Pfft! The community hasn't used GW in years. TacComms organises the tournaments, TacComms provides rule books and play testing, TacComms provides links to 6mm suppliers.

We've lost nothing. So my response is 'meh'.

Agreed. This was bound to happen, the only question was "when", and now we know . . .

Well we lost free* hosting and access to the rules, and the odd player that may have stumbled on the rules.

*By free I mean not payed for by the community of course ;)

Again is that an issue? Plenty of people to privately fund websites. The EPICente has been funded by myself since 2005. CyberShadow privately funds TacComms using his vast vault of gold coins.

We don't need a company to provide web hosting.

What we really need is a generic ruleset with armies for all the existing 6mm ranges. We have Exodus Wars, Future War Commander and Strike legion. What we need are army champions for each of the game systems (or one chosen system) who will create army lists for each faction / producer.

It's not an issue as along as the GW legal team don't come calling demanding 'their' files are removed.

We never needed GW to host the files, but I'm sure it didn't do any harm.

Yes... Valid, we can't upload GW files but we have NetEpic, NetEA and a plethora of other 6mm SciFi rulesets.

So where can we find the rules for NetEA now? The tournament pack only?

lol, we've been expunged from the library!

The rules I'll put up on net-armageddon.org as they were linking to GW site, the TP is already there.

Might this cause the NetEpic/NetEA communities to change their army lists to reflect available models?

I wonder if GW 6mm minis will go up in price, or will people mostly switch to other manufacturers.

to be honest, I think it's going to make list builders care even less about official model availability. We're all proxiers now :)
