Woohoo! I had a great boxing day playing Epic with a newcomer to the hobby which has sparked lots of enthusiasm in me. Something bugging me last night was the lack of information and misrepresentaion of the current 'state of play' as regards GW vs Community support for the game we all love: as such I've taken the liberty and the time to attempt to fairly update the games Wiki Page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epic_%28game%29 I hope people find my efforts both useful ((I've been at it for four hours!) and fair; I'd welcome any feedback and help both with layout and referencing whilst also taking on board any criticisms people may have. Both TMG and Onslaught were contacted before being referenced in this article whilst i felt that this was less of an issue for the chaps at Exodus Wars. If any of those three would like to comment on or have the way they've been included changed then I'd happily oblige :-) Yours, Ryan |

(This article appears to contain original research) "resulting in a game that is more tactically complex than Warhammer 40,000." (citation needed) "whilst also allowing longer ranged weapons such as artillery to be more realistically portrayed." (citation needed) "Also of note is the introduction of blast markers... ...which, again, adds another dimension of realism over some wargames." (citation needed) Just pre-empting the gods of the wiki... .... EDIT: Also, I'd reword the proxies section to make it seem less like the proxies are designed specifically for epic; that way lawsuits lie. Focus more on players choosing to use other 6mm sci fi models instead, something like: "Since GW stopped producing miniatures for Epic, some players have been playing the game using other 6mm scale sci-fi minatures, such as those from..." etc. Also mentioning Raiders and Siege somewhere might be cool. |

Also, "meanwhilst" is pretty archaic. |

That's what i'm looking for Zombo! So; someone needs to head off and start a thread about how epic is more tactically complex than Warhammer 40,000 ;-), then we'll all chime in on that one. I like your proposed reword as regards the proxies and have gone with: "fans have found many suitable proxies in the ranges of other up and running miniatures companies that bear a suitable resemblance to the desired units" I'll pop Raiders and Siege in there somewhere tomorrow. Any help getting rid of my 'meanwhilst's would be greatly appreciated. |

Just delete the first meanwhilst, change the second to 'meanwhile' or 'additionally,' |

Re; stopping production you have September 2014, was it not early 2013? |

Predictably, my attention was drawn to the sections for 2nd Edition Epic and Net Epic. I think I'm right in saying 2nd edition Space Marine was 1991 (there is no date shown on the page). The main thing I'd like to ask is if there could be some reference to Net Epic in the section for 2nd Edition Epic; as this has been the case with E:A and Net EA, it stands to reason that it would be logical that the same would apply to 2nd Edition Epic and Net Epic. Perhaps Primarch would be best placed to edit that section of the piece though... Hint , hint! ![]() |

Good job MOK, one thought - can't we get a better photo than one with unpainted miniatures!? |

Agree with Zombo, language as regards proxies should be more nuanced and not imply anything other than that gamers are finding them useful in lieu of epic models being available. |

I'd be happier if the Net-Epic players could handle their 'section' of this entry as I know relatively little about it and would want that community to represent itself :-) Steve: Date error noted and changed! Onyx; I will be searching for some kickass photo's to use shortly :-) Still not found a place for Raiders and Siege but it's on the 'to do' Ben and Barney: what do you think of the wording as regards proxy minis now? Great start looks good. I may have introduced it differently, focussing on the scale (size of minis and numbers of forces), rather than comparing it to 40k. Eg Epic is a game based in the WH40k universe, played using epic scale miniatures (6mm = average man, [maybe add in the scale/gauge also]) which enables epic scale battles to be fought with numerous infantry, tanks, flyers and even mighty titans. Just sounds a bit sexier ![]() Maybe needs a pic or two with a selection of epic minis (infantry stand through to Titan, include a 40k space marine for scale). |

I like it. Surprising that no one has done this already, so good initiative roll there! As with all texts, things can be improved, but in my mind it seems a fairly complete entry as is. |
