![]() Hi everyone! In our most recent update to the Alpha build of Exodus Wars: Fractured Empire, we added the oft-requested Close Assault to the roster of available orders, and in doing so we have finally delivered on our promise of a turn-based strategy game requiring manoeuvre warfare and combined-arms tactics to secure victory. With each release, Fractured Empire is feeling more and more tabletop-like (which is our mission), but recent additions like Force Selector, Deployment and now Close Assault have really helped to close the gap, and we couldn't be more chuffed. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Close Assault order captures all the action of close-quarters firefights, but, more than that, it is an invaluable tool for forcing hard-to-rout formations (like dug-in infantry) off objectives. Key to the addition of Close Assault was the full implementation of Suppression from the up-coming 6mm Exodus Wars tabletop game, including the Routing mechanics. You can now force formations to break and run -- not likely so far as to remove them from the battle completely, but far enough to enable you to secure the objective for those oh-so-valuable victory conditions. In our now-regular Tuesday Topic post to the FracturedEmpire.net forums, we outline our thinking about the just-released Alpha build's implementation of Close Assault and solicit feedback from the community. You can follow this discussions via the link above and you can of course support us by pre-ordering Exodus Wars: Fractured Empire from FracturedEmpire.net, which also enables you to post your opinions and contribute directly to the game's on-going design and development. Thanks for reading! ![]() |
