Games Workshop has Dreadfleet (70 pound) and Dreadfleet novella by Phil Kelly (6.90 pound) available for pre order. Limited numbers only will apparently be available. Not sure if the scale is the same as the old Man O War. Looks like you get quite a lot. Unfortunately on the OZ Games Workshop site it is listed for $190 OZ. Exchange rate $1 oz buys .65 pence. Do the maths. Its about $58 dollars overpriced. Its epic all over again !! Oh well its off my list then. |

Lk: its everything GW OZ does every time. it'd be cheaper to buy from the UK or US and pay their outrageous shipping costs. or get an indie or someone to send it as to scale, it doesnt have a scale as such, but apparently the ships are about 8-10cm long |

Yeah i know your right, but it still annoys me. Last time i tried to order frow GW UK they insisted on charging 10% GST (not VAT) despite the Australian Government waiving the GST on items bought overseas for less than $1000 OZ. Where does the 10% go? |

Well, normally I bitch and whine about most new GW/FW releases on here, but i have to say that looks pretty awesome. The GW/Australia stuff is of-course horrendous, as always ![]() *much cheaper, still ~£20 overpriced |

yeah, if they where the equivalent of 60 pounds over here, then i'd seriously consider getting it even if i only like one of the ships (mechasquid) and the terrain and mat. i reckon i could get enough play out of it to justify the expenditure, but the price it will end up being, i highly doubt it. |

That said, the video voice acting is making my spam mute intermittently and the dot on the 'i' of their script typeface looks wrong? The later is more upsetting as when i first saw it in the video i thought the letters had some nice lines to them and now i look at it more it is a bit yucky. ... but then some people are never happy ![]() ![]() ![]() Edit: they either have two 'i's or a 'ti' ligature, ill assume it's a lig, either way they don't use it consistently ![]() |

I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed. The ships are fairly cartoony, as are the big skull piles, er, islands. Particularly not impressed with the Skaven ship, which I first assumed was Dark Elf. I've always pictured Skaven in ships similar to the US Shroud Mages, or something like wacky debased Dwarf vessels. Oh well, at least I don't have to explain to my wife. |

The video of it on you tube looks pretty sweet. I like it that it's self contained (no more to buy), seems to have the fiddly over complex rule/play (ie. details, flavor) aspects the majority of gamers say they enjoy (big turn off in my book). Interesting they brought back the 'fate cards' for it! The sea mat looks really cool (if I still played Man O War, or the new generic fantasy ship games). Not bad over all, since GW corporate feels the need to push the fantasy IP. I still would have much prefered an Adeptus Titanicus remake with the same production values/effort. Oh well. Guess all to not look forward to now is four years of "The Hobbit, The Miniature Game" ![]() |

Presumably they will do a release every 2 years so you should not have to wait 4 years at least. |

After watching the video a couple times I said what the heck and bought it. To me it costs the same as going out for a nice meal. Looks like it could be a fun casual tactical skirmish game rather than a fleet maneuver strategic game (since I have no intention of devoting alot of time to a naval game, skirmish casual is ideal for a change of pace-if it's half as fun as Space Hulk it's worth it). There is a whole lot of models in that box, and not all the Islands are just piles of skulls. There's castles, wreaks, sea monsters, flying stuff, the cool game mat, and islands that are piles of skulls. With the rule book, and the other game accesories it is actually is a decent value when compared to other games (sorry). Perhaps it will provide an excuse to dust off the Man O War models. My only real gripe is where's the Orcs?!? |

Am I missing something? Can someone point me towards the video for this? Thanks. |
