So I just moved into a new place and I went to my storage space to pick up my painted figs that had been in there for a year or so. (can't get good from here can it folks) I open the door and look in and there is a hole in the roof, and it is leaking water right down on the case with all my figs in it. foam storage cases really hold water well by the way.

do I need to go on... >:(

Not trying to be insensitive, but please do, what does prolonged water exposure do to figs painted with GW paint and or painted then varnished?

paint held up better than I thought but many figs covered by a lovely slug of reconstituted baseing materials and glue, foam trays lose there structeral integrity when wet apparently, so lots of broken stuff, plus my eldar vehicles appear to have not been varnished very well, with the result that the inks... well I swear I never diped them but they look lke it.

no, no damage $. "the contract says we are not responsible, but I'm very sorry"

I hate storage places - even when they're clean and new you can get screwed. Mice made a home of a couch (with predictable results for the couch - yuk) in my storage unit years ago, and the contract said the same thing. Even renter's insurance didn't cover it.

My condolences, Illuvitar. That sucks.

Is it even legal for them to have such a contract...?

Of course, that would require testing the contract in court, and would cost a lot more than replacing the minis would...

(or, with ebay prices these days, you never know!)
