I regularly listen to a few wargaming podcasts. World's End Radio is one of them.

Whilst listening to its latest episode yesterday, I noticed that one of the hosts, in the first few minutes, mentioned he had been introduced to Epic, by none other than our friend Onyx!!!

Hat's off to you sir!

It would be nice if they got into it a bit and got speaking about the game in the podcast.

World's End Radio has also been playing and talking about BFG, in episodes 9-10, I believe.

That is a little harsh mate.
There were only one or two small rules errors and at least it got Epic exposed to a wider audience.
Thankfully, there were no repercussions from the inadvertent mention of proxy suppliers either.

I think Luke and JJ do a good job. I'm thankful every time they mention Epic Armageddon (and I hassle them when they don't :D ).
Our local Epic community is slowly growing and I'm happy if that's happening in other gaming communities around the world. When talking with JJ about WER a while ago, he mentioned that their podcast is downloaded over 20,000 times each episode. That kind of exposure is fantastic.

The more times Epic is mentioned, the better!

Between WER and the D6G Epic gets some pod cast love every now and again.

Objectively I think the D6G Epic review was the better of the two but lets face it all publicity is a good thing!

i wasnt concerned with the rules errors, and publicity for the system in general is a good thing. didnt much care for the podcast itself, but thats personal preference (didnt care for the other one i listened to either, so have stopped)
but the 'inadvertant*' mentioning was a big freakin deal, and its exactly the kind of thing that should be studiously avoided for someone with 20,000 customers. a to no repercussions, i dunno how much impact it has can really be judged yet. certainly i saw what looked like ripples at the time.

(*its not like it just slipped out. maybe they didnt think about the potential fallout, but not thinking is what we should be avoiding)

our friendly water mammal was mentioned in direct relation to a model which was commented about how closely it resembled a well known multi-limbed 40k model. the mentioning was about as not-circumspect as one could possible be.

The 2 guys that were doing the Epic evangelising (Olly and Chris) have learned from the mistake.
Maybe you should let it go Jaggedtoothgrin..?
It was a long time ago and NOTHING bad has come of it.

Tom, they certainly mentioned EW and DRM as legitimate suppliers of 6mm sci-fi goodies.

I agree that D6G's review was a little more detailed but they had a lot more time to give the subject.

Guys, please can we keep this friendly?

I am very happy that WER mentioned Epic, and appreciate the fact that they did. I was worried about the slip, but there seems to be no issues at this point, and it also seems that it was a genuine slip. The more exposure the game gets, the better for us all here. Any podcast chat is going to be out of our hands, and we need to accept that.

With regards to various proxy minis that people build for themselves, this is a public forum, and more than just the signed-up membership read here. Anything posted on these boards is in the public scrutiny.

Now, everyone smile and wave at the GW lawyers reading this... ;D ..... Thats not a wave, Apocolocyntosis! ;)

Just to clarify, I was referring to the OP having an advert for pool cues in his signature, not threatening ;)
