While various online discussions are talking about the negativity of this (it is the internet, after all!), this may not actually be a bad thing.

If the final result is a company with the book production quality of Warhammer Historicals, and the miniature output of Forge World, this could be fantastic. Of course, we are more likely to see the book production quality of Forge World, but we can live in hope.

I wonder if this opens the possibility for Forge World to take on other aspects of GW?

I shall be grabbing a copy of Trafalgar at Salute just in case!

Gutted that Rob Broom's been made redundant, but I'd like to see FW doing ships for Trafalgar... after all, they have just started looking for additional sculptors.

But WH has never made minis and never was intended to be a miniature producer. It was always meant to be a rules driven company.

And while I'd like to see something positive from this as well I think that the most likely result is a company that produces historical rules that are as expensive as FW books and have the same level of design and playtesting.

Time will tell and it would be nice if GW made some sort of public comment.

Can FW maintain the Quality of WH products? What, I think, bean counters and efficiency drivers tend to forget when making people redundant is quality is as much about passion as anything else.

Do FW have both either the skill and passion to do justice to historicals and maintain the high quality that has so far been achieved? Or have they been lumped with something they don't much care about?

Alan, the simple answer will be if we see WAB V2 anytime this year then maybe Forge World will progress with WH.

Not holding my breath.
