Well, any thread about SG miniatures is unlikely to be good news, right? I have had contact with Andy and Rick on this. Essentialy a lot of stuff (also non-SG) is shuffeled around. In the restructure there has been an evaluation of the "movement rate" of products. Certain slow-moving stuff will not be available in the new set-up (has to do with capacity vs availability), but if you ask you might still be able to purchase IF there is stock left. But stock wont be replenished. Consider using the various regional MO's as they seem to have seperate resources, and you might be able to get stuff that seems otherwise unavailable. SG product availability IS an ungoing concern for both Rick and Andy, and we (the SG community) can support that by trying to get our stuff through MO and show that there IS demand for it. http://forum.specialist-games.com/topic ... Hi! Like I said on this forum many moons ago, SG will be available through MO as long as the stock is there. Once gone, its will be gone for good. They have never intended to make more nor will they. SG games minis will never "move" to GW's expectations, so it's as good as gone. Buy while you can folks, this is as "advanced" a warning as you're going to get. They are basically telling you its going to get yanked. The "epic ice age" just got a tad colder..... ![]() Primarch |

Note that the product reductions they talk about there have already occured in the last couple of weeks. Epic lost the plastic ruins sprue. BFG was the hardest hit, losing five ship types. That should be it for the 2008 year, as the new SG catalogue is now available. |

BFG lost ships? Which ones? I only see that Iconoclasts Destroyers and Cobra Destroyers are gone as the individual Ork Battleships (ther is only the egerneric one left). The Adeptus Mechanicus Battleship is gonetoo. At least in the German Online Shop. |

I am increasingly thinking, it's time to get well clear of this SG shipwreck. |

Ah, yes. Who would have guessed? ![]() Luckily I have moved my main interest to Warmachine and Hordes and those few ideas for epic have mostly been something that would not need SG (scrapbuilded Nurgle Imperator, watch out Warmaster Nice ![]() Somehow I wish that GW would just kill SG totally, that would at least be fair instead of this "slowly we rot" thing. *now playing - Obituary* |

(Markconz @ Feb. 12 2008,19:47) QUOTE I am increasingly thinking, it's time to get well clear of this SG shipwreck. Sci-fi Commander is coming out but it has far less unit and weapon detail in it than Epic does. It oddly has more detailed artillery rules and, for Guard players, it has Smoke rules :-) I have my rulebooks and I am going to work on building another army to round out my current ones and I think that perhaps I may just use Mark's consolidated rules and stick with those. Sad really. |

As GW's party line has been "stagnation" for years it's safe to assume Nurgle has possessed the CEO. He likes to rot you know... ![]() |

(Hena @ Feb. 13 2008,09:51) QUOTE Without minis, it gets a lot harder to get new players into fold. Well have to see how it pans out. Does anyone else remember Rick & Andy saying that these restructuring shouldn't have any bearing on SG ![]() That has been the party line EVERY time they've axed something. And GW has been lying all the previous times, too... ![]() |

Sad really. If SG was a horse, someone would have shot it by now. The trouble is that I am not a fan of the Warmaster engine in general. Besides, the issue is not the Epic rules (we seem more than capable of dealing with that ourselves!), but the miniatures. I am going to take a slightly different route, and will think about EA force lists for DRMs Andrayada and Kraytonian races. I know that Doug (and Tom) appreciates my time, effort and funds. |
