Damn not the flat bases! I used my last 4 just yesterday...
I know that some time ago they replaced them with the raised bases in all the new titan packs, but it a little annoying. I liked those flat bases

According to this thread on Warseer there are more bits that are disappearing from the list. Most of these are replacable, and others are 40K and WHFB which are of limited value to us here. Swordwind is going... (I thought that it had already gone!). The only thing that caught my eye is on page 10, stating that the 60mm Epic bases are gone! Is there a replacement for these? I use these for objectives and they are very useful. |

loosing the flat 60mm bases is truely goiing to annoy me, all my warmachines are mounted on them so adding more in the future, or indeed finishing what i have will become alot harder unless a very easy to obtain replacement comes along! |

They are also discontinuing all the parts necessary for building an affordable Dark Eldar conversion army. I emailed Andy and he said he'd pass on my request to delay/reassess those product codes for the next six months. My guess is they might do it if they have large enough stocks (in other words it won't cost them money to hold off on their delay). If they can't then I'm going to have to take a more radical approach to providing a Dark Eldar product to the masses... |

That is a massive list of stuff... lots of it will just be repackaging right? Otherwise they will be wiping out almost everything... |

CDs are bigger than the 60mm round bases, but that is an option. Especially for OBJs, I'd imagine. Of course, really start worrying when Epic main force codes start disappearing ... < distant voice starts whispering in the background repeatedly, "DRM ... E/W ... DRM ... E/W ... " > ?Fade to Black??  ?

Almost everything nice conversion bits are going. Maybe it is just repacking, and you have to buy whole model/kit to have certain parts. I need to gather bits to some safe place... |

As far as I am aware, most of the BFG bits codes are going for the individual vessels, but the packs of three (or whatever) remain available. There is a rumour that the various bits codes will return after restructuring, although believe what you will. My opinion is that they are seeing just how far they (GW) can push people to buy entire models for conversions - but maybe that is too much conspiracy theory!

I sent an email to Andy asking for these product codes to be continued for 6 months to see if Epic: Raiders would be able to provide some extra revenue and justify keeping them open. The idea was to keep an affordable way of building the conversions for prospective DE players. 99390112003 9947011201205 9947011201207 9947011203104 9947011202702 9947011202703 Although I can't post the email (by request) Andy followed up with it THE SAME DAY and sent my request to another manager. The answer was... SORRY! They will not carry the products past Feb 2008 but assured me I could still get them in the kits (not so much of a conspiracy, eh CS?). The result is this will spell the end for an affordable DE conversion using GW parts. Things like the Slavebringer, Razorwing, Raven, Barge of Pleasure, Vessel of Pain, Perditor, etc. will cost a pretty penny to obtain (or you will be forced to ebay for them). I try to do the right thing for them and each time they poke me in the eye. It's like they are daring me to mass manufacture these things...

All this work into making and playtesting lists for armies for which no miniatures exist... or are ever likely to in the near future. All this effort to convert expensive GW parts into proxies. And people have not yet just decided to go and make many EA lists for DR and EW miniature ranges why? Go where the love is I say. |
