Presumably (as was floating around a while ago) the Specialist Games department will get more support if they get a strong customer base. It is a risky loss-leader (both in terms of money and juggling multiple rulesets), but GW has been generally impressing me more and more recently with their approach to things, so I think the goodwill is somewhat being rebuilt. And Forgeworld and Specialst Games are the tip of that iceberg already.
I think perhaps if people sent in suggestions about getting certain lines finished to workable states before new ones are started, they might just listen now. AT (as interesting as it looks) could easily wait a few years without losing demand, assuming nothing major changes (e.g. real life titans are created :p), but a lack of BB teams really hampers the game. At least Necromunda is fairly workable with what they've put out (and has a healthy community interested in rules-smithying).
Who knows, though, maybe they'll release some beta-rules in the future? Doing a Reddit thread is already so out of character for GW's past decade—maybe they'll experiment with different rules release mechanisms? Of course, in the olden days, one just had to put up with no Space Elves (for example) for months and months on end, so perhaps we're a bit spoilt by the modern age of planned product timelines?
