Well Like a Bigfoot or Nessie sighting ... every few years some see or hears of the Ghost of GW Past. And everybody thinks it's the 2d Coming and everything is going to be "just like old times, the good old days", etc. ...

Been around the GW block since '90 ... so I have heard this "story", "rumor", EVP, etc., too many times before. And frankly I've got more 6mm to paint than I have time before I Ghost out myself. And if the supposed "new" Epic stuff looks anything like the stuff FW is making now for 40K. I'm even less interested ...

But hey, like Linus and Charlie Brown's sister, you can wait in the pumpkin patch hoping for the Great Pumpkin to arrive ... While everybody is out having a good ... ^-^

Gone and banned from stores, you will be forced to buy the new recursive-skull-dice-system for the revised game format.

Rumours from Atia (who is usually spot on) says "- EPIC should be set during the Horus Heresy" (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthrea ... ost7566340).

I'm not exited about new minis that will/may be produced, since I also have more than enough to paint and the range that is available from other manufacturers is great.

But I hope that some new players will start with Epic, so I do have some people to play near me. ;)

EPIC!

I was extremely sceptical at first but it's actually true. Wohoo! There will be more Epic players around at least!

And they do mention Epic Armageddon specfically. My dream is that they cooperate with the community since we know what needs to be fixed rules- and balance-wise. The best would be a careful rewrite, shortening and clarification of the E:A rules with new army lists and possibly mission realeased. And lots and lots of miniatures.

I wildly speculate that we will get a single boxed game set in the Horus Heresy with new SM plastics. Lots of legion special rules based on E:A but probably simplified. It will be expensive. I will buy it anyway. There will in all probability be a place for Net-EA and the community and army list development anyway.

Been messin' with Epic from '91 to '03 and now back in 2014.

With all the stuff out there now, couldn't care less about new GW product or their company.

They pissed me off for good many years ago.

Actually I am pissed at myself for falling for their shell game for so long.

I've been saying that for decades ! And if you are looking for new Epic players as some of you lament, pick one of the Epic rules systems you like. And choose figures from the plethora on both new and old 6mm Sci-fi producers out there today. Again, why is this all dependent on GW ? There are even other good rule systems you could for 6mm sci-fi ...

Yes, a remake of the Heresy box with simplified rules sounds like the most plausible alternative. Would be funny if they went with 10 mm instead though :D

Perhaps L4, some people actually like the aesthetics of a 40k marine and vehicles and would like to have some of those? Or perhaps collect in another scale and find the different scales to build a force in pleasing? Or perhaps some people have incomplete epic armies and would like to finish them off and eBay has been traditionally cost prohibitive? Or some people are just amazed and gob smacked at the apparent about face GW management just did (I fall more in that camp)?

I personally don't care what mess of rules GW produces as I'm like you in that minis and rules have never been tied together for me. After all, I still play SH and use 30k minis for it AND old Aliens figures because the shoe fits. I'm fairly certain that there's nothing to fear because as Peter likes to say, people will play what they want. It's not going to fracture the community. People that want to play a hypothetical new 6mm Epic will, regardless of minis coming from them or Onslaught. Those that want to play something else, will (I still prefer my Epic in Exodus Wars lists for gaming after all). :)
