and doubtless every bit as expensive....

Yes I know ... I started Epic in '90 and have been thru all iterations. But again SM2 was before EA and after E40K ... And both of those seemed to be about maneuver ... SM2/TL ... not at all ...

...how much maneuvering can be done by giant walking robots that tower over the terrain anyway? Titans are there as anchor points of firepower. They take what they dish out where they stand so the smaller and more nimble units can maneuver up and win the battle.

minor correction. SM2 was before both Epic40k and EA. I believe you have a typo there. :) Those are basically in order, V2, V3, and V4 of epic.

Yes I meant E40K and EA came after SM2/TL in that order. AT ... SM1 ... SM2/TL ... E40K ... then EA ... And it appears next is Epic AT 8mm ... ^-^

So, yknow the way they scaled it at 8mm "so you can see marine armour marks". If they are expecting people to shell out £100+ for each model then something tells me we wont get as far as seeing any infantry...

E:A may well be about manoeuvre, but GW is all about selling models - the bigger and more expensive the better. In that sense, E:A is completely at odds with GW strategy, and also why LotR was ultimately a dead end.

The best kind of game for GW to produce would be something that had a really simple set of rules with additional rules associated with each "unit" in a manner similar to collectable card games like Magic. That way they could continue to make and sell new models.

I agree with Kyrt and L4's assessments that this is a new game with certain references to the 40k universe which by definition would contain some similarities to E:A.

And no, infantry and other kit is less likely for purely financial reasons - they don't bring in the same level of profit; precisely why E:A was dropped.

I agree and I even mentioned it on another thread here today. But again IMO, the worst version of Epic was SM2/TL. Which was clearly about selling models and not a "good" war game for experienced "adult" gamers. Where all the other versions certainly were games of maneuver. Especially Based on who was playing. Old time gamers [like me ! :o ] who have played WWII thru Modern, can play it as a mobile maneuver combined arms game. Where others who don't have that experience, will probably try to do as SM2 wanted/ did. Line up, shoot then run into the middle and go into close combat. :{[] Again, bottom line ... GW is more about selling models ... not producing "good" game rules ...

My sister and others would agree ... " GROW UP !!!!! Stop playing with toys. You did that when you were 8 years old. And after being the Army for 10 years. You come back home and start playing with toys again !!!!! " >:(
