Hi Guys,

Long time no see.

Since the conversation started here regarding postage etc and Heritage I thought I would add something.

Heritage Studios has stopped trading for a number of reasons which are not the fault of Steve.  He is unable to maintain the customer level required and people have been asking where he is.

Baccus has already mentioned the same thing due to the number of enquires on a daily basis.   I like Peter, hope Steve is able to come back and continue where he left of but until then we just have to give him time.

I know that any outstanding orders will be dealt with when Steve returns so for the moment we just have to be patient.

In the meantime orders and enquiries can be dealt with either through Zac & Cloud City Games or myself.

Cheers
Doug

I don't know if this came up before but the prices on the Cloud City Games website are in Canadian dollars. So American buyers will typically save 10-15% off of the listed prices depending on what the exchange rate is that day.

You can switch the pricing over to US funds using the Currency menu on the right side of the page.

Man, you know something is wacky when a package can be sent cheaper and faster US<->UK than US<->Canada.

Cheaper perhaps (you'd have to give me some specifics before I could comment) but I am not sure that its quicker to send from the UK than it is to Canada. Maybe if you live on the East Coast...

Depends, but I often get packages from the UK in about 4-8 days.  Shipping time from Canada is usually 5-7 days.

What really makes all this really funny is about a year or so ago, I noticed shipping from the UK started getting lower.  I assumed it was just people starting to realize what the market would bare.  Then someone told me there had been a drop in international shipping costs from the UK.  Don't know if this is correct, but it seemed a good explaination for the drop.

I just did a check at the Royal Mail website and a .5kg parcel sent surface (business rates) from the UK comes out to $0.80 Cnd less than it would be for me to ship it from Canada (based on today's exchange rates). A parcel less than 1kg is slightly cheaper from Canada.

I'm not seeing where its that much cheaper unless they have some sort of discount on expedited service.

Not sure if Steve is ill or deployed to a hot, sandy place ?  He told me before, IIRC, that when he was on active duty, he was a FST, ie. FO ...  So whatever the case ... we all wish him the best ...  Recently,  I got a big order direct from Doug/DRM UK. I live on the East Coast - NE Ohio ... post from the UK to me was not cheap but reasonable ... So ordering from Canada for some may be a good option.  But buy DRM (& E/W) !  :)
