I just requested a refund based on their web page. I also kept a copy of their invoice and included that in the request, so they shouldn't have any excuses for "we can't find this order" or what have you. I'll post it when/if the refund comes through.

As far as I can tell this is what happened:

* Tony hired some ex-GW staff guy named Lonnie
* WGF signed a deal with a Chinese plastic injection firm to grow the business, this involved Tony loosing majority ownership
* WGF staff were upset that the firm's deliveries were often late and contained the wrong number of items
* an e-mail was sent around by WGF staff venting about this
* Lonnie forwarded that e-mail to the firm
* the firm's owner tossed the old management team out and put his own guy and Lonnie in charge

So it looks like it all came down due to a nasty e-mail, misplaced trust, an asshole and a temper tantrum. There might have been other things going on, but it's all a bunch of mud slinging right now so who knows.

I e-mailed WGF about the androids, asking them to just give me a straight answer, yes or no. If you haven't asked for your refund yet, I would. Obviously I'll post if I hear otherwise.

To be honest it's been so long since I gave them money that I seriously forget exactly how much I gave them ($7 I think?) and I have serious doubts about getting it back so I think I'll write it off. At least it was only $7....

I'll probably be dating Super Models before WGF makes these 'Bots ... WGF just got in over their heads IMO ... They got into the deep end and realized they couldn't just tread water to get by ...

Looking at the new management's post - they seem to be trying to say they can 'leverage' better quality / more attention from the majority chinese firm, when it seems pretty clear the firm see's them as a useful profit spinning subsidry to their main buisnessess.

not ideal, but i may be surprised.
