you may think that, but I couldn't possibly comment...
actually a lot (well some) of what is on the GW page is in fact inaccurate and does not always need to be followed, just because GW says so...
For example
Photos of Painted Models
We encourage fellow hobbyists to show off their painting skills by taking photos of their miniatures and putting the on the site. Please remember to correctly credit the IP - "miniature ? Games Workshop Ltd 2003-2004. All rights reserved. Used without permission - model painted by xxxxxxx"
A photograph of a GW miniature does not infringe their IP.
A photograph of a GW publication does.
You could not confuse a photograph with a miniature, and you are not pretending that your photograph is a miniature.
You do not need to (as far as my knowledge of copyright law goes) credit the IP of the miniature on a photograph.
GW has written quite a complex and inclusive policy and it would be hard to build a site not in violation of it in some way or another. |

?I guess nobody's perfect! But yeah, I wonder how GW would have reacted if another company had used models based on GW products and featured them in an official release. It wouldn't have been pretty I'm sure!
