I just read of Claude Choules passing, I guess on the 5th of May, 2011. Evidently there is but one remaining veteran of the Great War, Florence Green of Britain.

RIP.

Such is the way with all Wars, however large or tragic. Time moves ever on till none of the soldiers, none of any of us one day, are around.

Good to hear of a Green making it through to a fine old age. I wonder if he's a distant relation, probably unlikely.
