Right, Jimbo suggested an Epic FAQ thread for all of the questions that come up regularly. So, here it is. Feel free to post questions and answers here. This will stay pinned, and after a while I will push all the posts into a single list in a post.
So..... go post!

Whats the chance we can change the colour of this forum? To be brutally honest, it's fecking awful!! Black on Purple!! It's harder to read compared to the more usual colours.
Also, the smilies need sorting, they've got a white outline in each corner
Other than that though...

I have to say I don't really mind it- the main message text is really easy to read imo, and the orange links on the purple are fine too I reckon... I've always wondered why the smilies had the white bits though... ? ?hehe..

it's not a huge deal or anything, it could just look so much better than it does

There is an ability to change the colours here, and to have each user picking their colour template. However, it means that I have to sit down and navigate the various modes of operation. For those 'in the know' the boards use a combination of CSS, templates, html and other sources, and different colours are in different places! On top of that, the only colour that you cant change, is the post colour after it is posted. The colour of the post is stored with the post itself. So, if the background changes to a light colour, it makes it impossible to read the old threads!
I must admit that I like the colours right now, but then I would! I do have plans to produce various other colours, but this will probably take time.
As for the smilies, the original colour of the boards was a pale blue and white (which I hated) and so the graphics were not neatly backed. If anyone wants to produce some cool smilies, I would be happy to add them and phase out the old ones.

I always think that little bit of white makes it appear as though the smilies have poked their heads through the page!
