Has anybody suggested a real-time chat room for this board? I don't know, but I haven't seen any on any other wargames type message boards, and it would be nice to talk to some of these guys real time occasionally....

Despite the fact that the audience here is rather dispersed across many time zones, I think this would be v. neat. |

It would be cool, but these boards currently dont support this feature. The closest that we have is displaying your MSN/Yahoo/whatever chat alias in your profile. I have no problem with these boards being used to arrange when people will be on-line for a chat. |

Cool! I will try to make it an SOP that I have that opened when I hang around here. If others do the same it would be a useful way of meeting everyone. A pre-scheduled meet might be OK, but not very useful to us in very different time zones

Personally I dont see that I'll be using it much in general - online forums already eat too much of my time! HOWEVER, I can see one very neat thing that could come of this. Arrange scheduled chats with a "Guest speaker" (aka someone to interrogate). I wouldnt advise advertising them a great deal (possibly just notify the regs by email?) as they wouldnt work if too many people got online & filled the room with "noise", but a decent sized group asking a guest about particular areas could be very interesting - especially if theres a way to save the conversation to then turn into an article. Even just scheduled chats with set topics (get all the Ork warlords to exchange tactics etc.) could make it into a really useful feature. Just a thought.... |

You would want to advertise it for a week, or have a schedule so people know whats coming up, can look into it, etc Sounds very organised though...
