A topic has come up on one of the Yahoo groups, that the current colours are difficult to read on certain systems. Now, I like these deco, and it wont be going away, but I am looking at implementing a second skin, with dark (text) on light (background) that registered users can select as an alternative when logged in. It would be largely unsupported, in terms of all decisions made would be based on the current scheme, with a nod to the alternative where possible. Reactions? |

I'd like the choice, If a thread gets long with large blocks of text white text on black starts to give my eyes issues. |

Would prefer dark on light. Much easier to read in bright lighting. |

The light on dark is great for when I want to read the forum in bed in the middle of the night and not wake my missus up but I must admit it can be tricky to read if it's particularly sunny. So options are appreciated! ![]() |

Yeah but you live in Glasgow. It's sunny like what? 3 days out of the year? ![]() [ducks] |

Dark on light would make it easier to read the forums without the boss noticing. By boss I of course mean "wife". |

I do most of my Taccoms browsing these days on either my Kindle or phone and it makes it a lot easier than trying to use the website on a small screen. Also, it's black on white! |

We hit 24 degrees last week which I was dying off in. Come back rain, all is forgiven! Don't worry Ginger, we've been hearing that our friends down South seem very keen on us getting independence as they think we sponge off of the rest of the UK. That just encourages us to vote "no"! We're far more likely to do the very thing that the English don't want us to do just because it's funny... So I reckon the British weather is here to stay - although when we get that weather north of the border we would say it is Scottish weather as I believe that famous Scot Mel Gibson did in Braveheart. |

Good idea. Please make it quick and easy to switch between the two, if possible. I would use the regular dark scheme on my computer but the light scheme would be a lot easier to read on my mobile. I won't ever use tapatalk or the like. |

Bissler, it's been even hotter 'down South' and has topped 28C in London. Back on topic, I would also prefer to be given the option to choose the display, though Tapatalk looks *very* interesting indeed. Thanks Reedar! |

Yep, would like the option myself. |

Yeah I use tapatalk, probably most of my reading now actually. Unfortunately it is actually less wife-proof though, because it's harder to pass off staring at your phone as working ![]() |

Tapatalk can be horribly buggy when combined with forum software. Anyway, back to the main point, I have no issue with more options, but I'm not sure whether an unsupported theme is going to be that great as time goes on, and the forum has to be inevitably upgraded if there are new releases to the current version of phpBB's software. As long as those who use the theme accept that it could be buggy though, then I guess that it's okay. There are other issues which I think are more urgent to solve though, such as the top button still not functioning ![]() |
