Hey all! Recently, I've been getting a note that I've received an Instant Message from someone, but when I've gone to check it, the message has been replaced with "This message has been removed by its author before it was delivered." and I can't read it. Looking more closely at the IM system, there appears to be, at least, three folders: Inbox, Sent, and "Outbox". Not sure what the "Outbox" does, but it seems that if you delete a message from it, it also deletes it from the person you sent it to's Inbox, preventing them from reading/keeping it, even if they've already read it. I've had this happen to at least four messages so far. Thoughts? |

I think outbox is messages you've sent that the recipient hasn't read yet. This is complicated by the sent messages from the old system all being in there too. So yeah, delete from your outbox will delete it before the person gets to read it. |

That seems bizarre. On other forums I frequent, the outbox is just used to store your sent messages, and has no impact on anyone else's account. Can this not be altered at admin level? |

The distinction between your 'Outbox' (which stores outgoing PMs that have not yet been received) and 'Sent messages' (which stores outgoing PMs that have been read) is the standard way that PhpBB works. Short of hacking the underlying forum software (or installing a mod, which is basically the same thing), I doubt it can be changed. I also can't see any reason to change it. |

My profile listing at the top of the forum when I'm logged in says I have one new PM. But it's not showing up. My box was full and I've cleared it some but I still can't see the PM. Also I got a PM from someone to Glyn the other day say "thanks!" |

That was sent to everyone in the 'Brood Brother' group by mistake. I believe it is no longer possible for that to happen. |
