Quote (pixelgeek @ 08 2005 July,10:02) | Quote (dafrca @ 08 2005 July,09:08) | I find it odd and funny that a company that seems to understand Marketing as well as GD seems to, that they would not understand how something like how a Moderator acts or the image they present could impact the final image. |
The Mod in question has changed his sig. | Good Move. As a Moderator they are, in a sense, the face of the company.
Thanks for the Update too.

Well after 4 iterations of Epic, I'm prepared for almost anything ... even if Epic goes like MOW ... Gone but not forgotten ...

When I saw the list of Mods one thing immediatly popped into my head "There's too many chiefs, and not enough indians around this place"
The second was one General Forum for all the games, now call me stupid, but just what genius dreamed that up. "This is an accident waiting to happen."
On a happy note, in two years + dealing with PG as a Mod I have never found him to be unfair.............yet:;): (wink)
I agree with Neals 'Train Wreck'

Speaking of chiefs and indians, last I checked we still werent over 700 members on the new SG board. That has to be quite a loss from the old boards, even figuring in the posters on multible boards and those who had moved on before the change it still seems like a large chunk of the community hasnt made the crossing.

Maybe 90% of the members of the old baords didn't post?
The number of members with either 0 or less than 5 posts on the old Forum is pretty significant. And if you don't post then you really have no need to register since you can read the Forum just as well as a guest.
Given the traffic on the site you can't say that it isn't busy :-)
Regarding Neal's "train wreck" comment, the board will need some changes. And there are plans to get commentary from the people using it and then readjust the board. So if you want changes start taking notes now and then when the public commentart process starts submit them

I am sure that the registrations will continue to creep up as people come back from holiday or wait to see how things progress.

Quote (Legion 4 @ 08 2005 July,09:59) | Well with the way things are going again with Epic, it's easy to see the malaise ... ?However, let's admit it, if S/G-G/W dropped all Epic support we could still function on our own. ?Making rule and unit suggestions, etc., and if need be even buy other makers (GZG, Scotia, etc.) 6mm models. ?I've been Epicing since '90 and have 9+ Epic Armies, so I wouldn't have to buy anything. ?However, for newer players, there would be other options ... |
Hi!
Yep, perhaps this time around the epic community will learn you dont need GW to push epic and make it grow...
..after all NetEpics been doing that for over 8 years....
..its about time everyone else catches up.... ? ?

How exactly was the Epic Forum overmoderated?

I dont think its necessary or wise to rekindle old issues, and this isnt that kind of forum. ?Lets just say that some Mods were overzealous and some were ineffectual, both to the detriment of a good forum.
We can agree to disagree if you like and leave it at that to move on

Agreed. Otherwise I will need to contact the Royal Society for the Protection of Dead Horses!
