Thanks for the feedback. The issue with the comments is that we had two choices initially. The first was to drop these current forums, and replace them with the forums that came with the software now running the site. The second was to keep these forums, and integrate them as much as possible with the main site software. Clearly, we went with option two - as these boards are far more functional than the basic ones that came with the site software. The downside of this decision, is that the integration between the boards and the main site is a little limited. Most things work fine, but one of those things that doesnt is the crossover between articles/comments posted, and threads over here. As such, I am afraid that comments to blogs and articles will need to remain (mostly) distinct.
As for the current theme.... yeah.... I know.....
I have been messing around with the colours on and off for about a week, which is why the blogs came online. I had to increase the space at the top of the main page to make room for the logo..... and then those lines appeared... They disappear on the main blog page, so I assume that its an active link thing. Anyway, the design and colours is still very much a work in progress, as its an evolution as functionality comes online and new sections are engineered in.

The blogs section has a nice enough theme IMO except for this (although the front page menu is a bit screwy on Chrome 12).
There's just so many possible things to add on. I was thinking of doing a player locator using User locations (there are addons for locations as CCK fields, and addons for displaying them on maps etc). The key thing for such a function to work IMO is that almost everyone enters their location (i.e. make it opt out rather than opt in), and actually keep them up to date (e.g. send reminder emails).
