Why does the word new always come out in red?

In this thread the word new (on my PC) is in red... it may not be so on yours...

OK, I can partly explain this... The link that Jimbo provided is this:

But, if you get to the same thread using the main page, you get this link:

Notice that, in the first link (where the word 'new' is red), you have the expression 'hl=new'. It is a command to the browser to highlight the word 'new' and put it in red. So, there is no problems with the boards, or your PC's. Now I just want to know how it got there!
