It looks good overall. I just have a few things to suggest. I would stick to buying things in "even lots" as far as formation size. The price of units as extras is pretty high in comparison. For example, instead of taking 2 KoS of 10 units, for the same price, you could almost field one KoS of 8 and one of 16. Personally, I think stompas are overpriced (there's a guns v stompas thread somewhere). I would drop the 2 extra stompas and pick up 4 dreads instead (which are also cool models). I would also fill in the Gunzmob to Big or Uge size and add all the nobz allowable. They're kind of fragile and they really need large numbers and nobz to shake off BMs. But really, I would have no problem with it as-is. |

Hello there. This is my first post here. I was thinking of adding a Rough Rider formation to my IG army but I do not like the horse minis. I was thinking of using Salamander scout tanks since I already have them. They were given to me by a friend and there are six tanks. This is the same amount as the RR formation. What I am asking is if anyone sees any problem or complication in using Salamander tanks in a "counts as" proxy for Rough Riders. Many thanks in advance. |

no problem at all, you would need to inform your opponent when you play, but shouldn't be a problem |

The only smallish problem is that ytou should base them in the same size. As long as you do that, there is unlikely to be any poblems. Tell your opponment in advance in any case ![]() Other proxies, more suitable to prevent confusions is searching for 6mm motorbike miniatures. DOn't know if they exist, but a motorbike formation can look really cool on the battlefield. Maybe using ork bikes with IG riders? BTW: welcome on board ![]() Health and sixes, Xavi |

Nice Sturmtiger R/F ! ?I agree ... if your gaming crew agrees, then go for it ! ?But I feel the stats for R/R (guys on horses) vs. AFVs should be modified to reflect that. ?Horse flesh vs. heavy metal ! ?The stats are different. But if you are just talking filling a slot that normally should be R/R with Sallies, fine ... but the stats shouldn't be the same ... ![]() |

Welcome Rabidfox, I use the old IG bikes for my RR units. I love the look of the old model combined with the visual of the line of bikes. Further, there is not chance the person I am playing would mix them up for anything else. dafrca |

I see you point, and I am not a huge fan of the Rough Rider minis either. However, I wouldnt necessarily use Salamaders, because they already have stats in the game, and are the different size. I would look around for other cavalry from other makers, or see if you can find bikers. How about Marine bikers with the riders replaced? Or converted Sentinels? Special dreadnoughts? |

Well, technically, you shouldnt use Salamanders since, as Cyber said, they already have stats in the game (i assume we are talking about Epic:Armageddon here). The bikers pictured above would work nicely. Or, alternately, you could use some soft skin vehicles like Humvees or such from other vendors. They would work okay, and not be too far off from what the IG is anyway. my 2cents, iblisdrax |

1/285 scale jeeps from WWII should work nicely. They may be small enough to mount on a base. |

Many thanks for the warm welcome! The only reason I figured on Salamander is because I had them and had factored out horses in the small bit of fluff I wanted to write about the army. Basicly its a machine based army ala Adeptus Mechanicus but of course using the printed rules for SL IG. I thought it would give the army a different flavor using the proxy RR to reflect the strong influence of tanks. I have been keeping my eyes open for IG bikes and even IG assault troopers to also use. No luck on Ebay so far. If anyone out there has enough bikes or IG assault troops to fill out the six stand formation please let me know. ![]() ![]() |

Hi! Doesn't Irregular make some 6mm cavalry that could be converted as rough riders? Primarch |
