Thanks for the link mate... I used to Play the Space Marine edition of Epic but when I moved to Uni I pretty much had to dump all of my stuff (Including probably around a chapter of marines and rhinos)

I'm thinking of getting into EA and was wondering where I can find the IG army list as well as asking how complicated an EA IG army is (I used IG at 40k level but never at epic level). [Edit: 2nd Ed that is] |

You can view the Epic Armagedon rules here: http://www.specialist-games.com/epic40k/Vault.htm - click on section "5.2 Imperial Guard" to see the army list. Can't really comment on how complicated they are to play as I've not used them myself but their one of the three initial lists in the rulebook so I'd imagine they'd be fine... Glyn |

Well I dislike 40K rules and don't play it. ?The E:A rules are very different and far superior to 40K, IMO. ?I say check E:A out, it is a very good gaming system. |

I started playing/collecting Epic in '90 and had not stopped since. And that was over 10 years after I graduated from "Uni" !?  ?Dumped 40K years ago ! ?

Heh - I got to read about Epic during my honeymoon.....in Space Marine 2 days.... 40K came later, and I'm still into both, although you don't find Epic players these days here. And I'm at Uni too, but here it's a ten minute drive away. But then I'm supposed to lecture too.

Hi I managed to pick up the new SM Battle Company box set at the weekend and started assembling them yesterday. It struck me that the sprue was suspicously like half of the old SM Infantry sprue. You got the marines with bolters, missile launchers and jump packs but that was it. You did n't get the sergeants, scouts, termies, bikes or command figures. Does anyone know if something happened to the old SM Infantry sprue mould? Or was this just an excuse to overcharge us and force us to buy the new metal bikes/scouts/termies etc.... Cheers James |

The way I understand it: GW have changed the way they cast their plastics & are using machines upgraded since the 1997 moulds for E40K were designed. In order to cast the older moulds would have meant considerable adjustment of the casting machine every time any of the epic sprues were needed. This wasnt possible under current production cycles so new moulds had to be made which do fit the current machines & also the production process in the plastics department. New moulds were too expensive to make from scratch so they re-tooled the components of the old moulds to fit new Boss'. In the case of the SMs (and possibly others, I'm going on a conversation between myself & jervis here, I havent seenthe new inf castings yet), this did indeed result in something which was basically one half of the original. |

I think it would have been better if they'd have put Space Marine Sergeants and Imperial Guard Officers on the new sprues, but we'll just have to make do sadly. I for one intend to track down second hand old ones on e-bay as I want those bits but thats annoying and hassle as otherwise I could have just bought the new boxed sets straight from GW and got them cheaper...
