I'm thinking of getting into EA and was wondering where I can find the IG army list as well as asking how complicated an EA IG army is (I used IG at 40k level but never at epic level). [Edit: 2nd Ed that is]

You can view the Epic Armagedon rules here: http://www.specialist-games.com/epic40k/Vault.htm
- click on section "5.2 Imperial Guard" to see the army list. Can't really comment on how complicated they are to play as I've not used them myself but their one of the three initial lists in the rulebook so I'd imagine they'd be fine...

Well I dislike 40K rules and don't play it. ?The E:A rules are very different and far superior to 40K, IMO. ?I say check E:A out, it is a very good gaming system.

Thanks for the link mate... I used to Play the Space Marine edition of Epic but when I moved to Uni I pretty much had to dump all of my stuff (Including probably around a chapter of marines and rhinos)  :(

No worries hope you like the system :)

Same here with getting into the Space Marine version of the game, although I fortunately got to leave the hordes of minis stored in my old room at my mothers house when I came to uni...

I started playing/collecting Epic in '90 and had not stopped since.  And that was over 10 years after I graduated from "Uni" !?:D ?Dumped 40K years ago ! ?

Heh - I got to read about Epic during my honeymoon.....in Space Marine 2 days.... 40K came later, and I'm still into both, although you don't find Epic players these days here. And I'm at Uni too, but here it's a ten minute drive away. But then I'm supposed to lecture too.  :{

Firstly hello to everyone, my lurking days are over!
Does anyone know why the skullhamma and gibbletgrinda have been classed as battlewagons and not gun/battle fortresses in the collectors 'counts as' section in the rulebook.
The only reason I could think of was that the new fortress models are much bigger.

Any ideas

Welcome to the forums Steders...
If you so desire, I see no reason why you shouldn't class them as battlefortresses or whatever if they are the models you have most of in your collections anyway..

Could you use the count as rule to use the old fortress models as the new ones in tournaments?

Welcome to the forums Steders!

I noticed this just a couple of days ago too... actually I had already planned to bulk my 10 gibletgrindas and skullhammas out anyway, just to make them look more like their stats suggest.

I'm thinking of sticking a hull from a new plastic battlewagon on the back, a bit like a trailer... and maybe adding some 'balconies'. ?I'll have to see how it goes, I'll post pictures when I'm done.

If anyone has any good ideas on how to make gibs and skulls look more battlefortressy (I want battlefortresses not gunfortresses), I'd like to hear them.

Hi!

Donwgrading Skullhammas and Gibletgrindas?! Outrageous.

I dont care what GW says, they REMAIN super heavy vehicles.

Which means net epic will now add a "super battlefortress to represent the new model..... :;):

While the GG and SH are smaller than the battlefortresses, I think they are way too big for a gunwagon and I use mine as fortresses.  They are certainly bulky enough to easily fit as long as you hit it in the 5 minute warmup.

MarkConz:  I like the balcony idea.  The balcony from a gargant's shoulders could probably be cut to add extra square footage, and the shoulder observation turrets would look good, too.  For that matter, you can take any of the house/hut style ork turrets and remove the gun to provide extra orky-looking cargo space.

I have a model kit for railroaders that has corrugated metal decking which would make for good platforms.  Or railroad I-beams and such sould be used to frame out some stuff.

I intend to add cargo nets to some of mine by cutting pieces of door/window screen.  I think a big cargo net running from the top pipe on a skullhamma down to the body would look good and add some transport capacity (for grots, anyway).

Adding something like the front half of the plastic stompa model to the rear of the model would add some significant cargo-looking bulk.

An easy way to bulk up a skullhamma would be to add a real dethrolla to the front instead of the wimpy longhorn steer horns it has on the front.

One thing I did on the new fortresses that made them look even a bit bigger was to mount the treads outside the edge of the body, almost like a giant trike.  A similar thing would work with the GG and SH if you simply mounted larger treads outside the existing ones.

Hope that gives some ideas to vamp off of.
