Open with the obligatory 'I hope I'm in the right section for this' statement. After Con posted a link to the Czar drop ship, I've decided it's something my AdMech forces would like. ![]() I figure some scenario stats would be pretty much like the Ork Landa: Roc Dropship Type ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Speed ? ? ?Armour ? ? ? ? CC ? ? ? FF WE, Aircraft ? ?Bomber ? 5+ ? ? ? ? ? ? 6+ ? ? 4+ Damage capacity 3. ?Critical hit effect: The Roc's control servitors are damaged. ?The Roc crashes to the ground, killing all on board. Notes: Planetfall, Reinforced Armour, Transport (may carry 13 of the following AMTL and IG units: Supreme Commander, Commander, Skitarii Tribune, Infantry, Stormtroopers (Skitarii), Fire Support (Field Guns), Ogryns (Praetorians), Snipers, Rough riders, Sentinels. ?Fire Support (Field Guns), Ogryns (Praetorians), Rough Riders and Sentinels take up two spaces each). For AMTL and 'Tech' Guard, and you can see which AdMech units/minis I'll use to represent which IG units. ?I hope it looks logical. Weaponry: I have little idea. ?Mostly because I can't see much on the Czar mini (is that something at the front & right?). ?I think it would probably have at least a heavy bolter or two. I'll have to wait until I have the thing in my hands, which might be a problem if I can't easily get it sent across the Atlantic. |

Nice mini. As for as weapons go, since it's a drop ship, you could easily rationalize that they are behind gunports to protect them during the drop. |

Nice to have the 'counts as' concept. ![]() I realised after posting that if it's carrying 12 guard units + commander unit, it's not going to hold too many ogryns, snipers, or fire support units. ![]() Oh, and one I just thought of now: a unit of AMTL praetorians would take up 16 spaces. I could give it 18-20 spaces, which seems a bit iffy; but that's when comparing to the low carrying capacity of SM space- and aircraft, which I'm used to comparing stuff to. ?It's a bit more feasible when viewed alongside orks (which the IG may be closer to, in that respect!), and might be compensated for with relatively lower firepower - though it just seems wrong to deny the IG mechanised firepower. ![]() EDIT: Sorry Vanvlak. ?Posted at the same time. Nope. ?No red. ?War Griffons grey with minimal yellow trim. ![]() (I've got a DRM Hammerjack painted up in a WG test scheme (with camo!), and as soon as I take and post photos you'll understand why red's got to go) |

I don't think transport capacity should be a problem. ?Judging from the comparison photo, the Czar should be about 10cm long and nearly 4cm wide. ?The hex base the CAV is on is 33-35mm side to side (not point to point). ?I'm guessing height is somewhere in the neighborhood of HUGE. If you consider it to be titan scale, it would be large enough for a level of AV on the bottom and a second level for Inf. above them. ? Either way, it's a fair bit larger than an Ork Landa. ?That's why it's my ~~Dream Drop Ship~~. Edit: Just my opinion, but you may want to consider another name besides "Roc Dropship". Seems a bit too much like "Drop Rock" |

Also, keep in mind that the larger minis are not to scale with infantry or vehicles. |

Con: I see your point. ?Some other mythological then. ?Garuda Dropship? ?(Buddhist version) ?Maybe one of the norse dragons or serpents. DS: Uh, the E:A minis? Van: Funny that - so do I. ![]() |

(Vermis @ Nov. 13 2006,16:47) QUOTE DS: Uh, the E:A minis? E:A and just about everything else before them. E40k was especially notorious for scale creep. Infantry and normal vehicles are about the same scale, but Super Heavies and Titans, especially, are out of scale with everything else. Flyers tend to be out of scale as well. |

Thanks DS. ![]() I know the FW aircraft are much bigger than the SG versions. Is it the same with super-heavies? |
