Hey guys I'm placing an order at forgeworld and was trying to decide on the composition of my superheavy tank company. What would you chose Shadowswords or Baneblades. Just wanted to hear your thoughts. Thanks |

Both, they complement each other and work together ... I've used them together often in the past ... ![]() |

The one catch is FW sells in packs of 3. What can you do... |

If you regularly fight against enemy war engines, then I'd take the shadowswords. If not, maybe the baneblades, although they are really just a big leman russ. |

I agree, you should have an OPTION to take both. If you are facing a warmachine heavy army, then take Shadowswords, otherwise Baneblades. You might be better mixing them, with a formation of 2 Baneblades and one Shadowsword. Cheers Chris |

Why not splash out and get a pack of each? -At ?6 each they were actually cheaper than the E40k metals last time they were on sale, so I'd get some quick before prices go up without warning... ![]() |

Yeah, I concur with the statements above. If you are facing large numbers of war engines, or even units with high armor values, ie, the 'nids, take Shadowswords. Otherwise, the Baneblades are a nice complement to a Leman Reuss detachment. my 2cents iblisdrax |

C/C you may have to do what I do with F/W. Buy a pack of each, keep what you want and sell your extras here at cost + postage. I've done it many times before. It's the only way to go. And there are other guys out there like us who don't want 3 of everything ! ![]() |

Hi! I consider the baneblade to be the "staple" super heavy tank, with the shadow sword as a heavy support tank. I usually get them in a proportion or 2 to 1 in favor of the baneblades. Primarch |

Primarch, that is also the way I thought about them. I have two companies of 3 baneblades, and 4 shadowswords which usually get fielded individually. |

Hi! I field them like that usually too Markconz, a company of baneblades with shadow swords (or the other heavies for that matter) as support. I think they only other super heavies I have actually fielded like a company of stormblades in an anti-titan role. Primarch |

I use them in both separate and mixed dets. Especially, with all the variations ... Stormblade, Stormsword, etc., etc. ... |

Hi! The baneblade was the first super heavy wasn't it? Or was it released with the shadow swords? Primarch |
