Well, here it is.  The list I'm currently using for EpicA Orks.  Its not quite my ideal list, but its what is all mostly made and painted.  I would like a Stompy list, but have and need some KoS.

Warband (warboss with 4Nobz and eight boyz)
     Extras- 5 Boyz (+5 free grotz)
               2 Squiggoths (counts as battlewagons)
               2 Squiggoths
               2 Flak wagons and 3 wartrukks
               1 Stormboyz,1 Kommando and 3 Gunwagons
    Total=750pts

3 Stompas
  Extras- 2 Stompas
            4 Dreads
            4 Dreads
   Total=475pts

KoS (4 gunwagons)
  Extras- 4 Gunwagons
            1 Mekboy speedsta
  Total= 350pts

KoS (5 Warbikes)
  Extras- 1 Scorcha,1 buggy, 3 Warbikes
            1 Mekboy speedsta
  Total= 350pts

Big Gunz Battery (5 biggunz)
  Extras- 5 Big Gunz
            1 Soopa gun
  Total= 325pts

Gargant=750pts

Grand Total = 3000pts.

My big Gunz I garrison.  It gives me a good deal of long range firepower from the off (especially the soopa gun) The rest moves on as normal.

What do you think?

Looks reasonable to me. "Subing" the S/Goths as battle wagons makes sense. ?Like I have said before, some "melding" the old with the new may be required. :;): ?We use the SM1 Codex Titanicus rules for towing Big gunz and the like. ?I look forward to the new Ork Soopa Gun as well as the other new releases :D ...

For my Soopagun I'm using a little plastic gun platform.  Not sure what it is originally.  I got it with loads of other stuff, there were a few of them.  They look a bit like the zap gunz in the big gunz blister, but larger, and have four wheels on the carriage.  ???

Anyone know what I mean?

I have started painting my Gargant, and its looking good.  I have got hold of some flock I'm going to use on my epic stuff from a model shop (their stuff was 75p a bag compared to GW's ?1.50 ! ).  I'll be going back there (I've only just found it) as they have loads of goodies.  Plasticard, flock of loads of varieties, loads of terrain (will check the different scales) balsa wood and more.  I didn't have a good look first time, since my GF was with me.

I used to base all my minis with green flock.. but now I use drybrushed sand with little clumps of static grass- while it may take longer, it makes any model look far better than just flocking, even if it is averagely painted.... :)

That sounds pretty similar to what I'm going to do.  The flock is a browny colour, it looks like mud all churned up.  I used to use sand and drybrush it myself, but now I dont have to bother.  I too am then going to add a little static grass in clumps to add a bit of colour and break up the mud effect.  If there is ruined sections, I add a little clump of static grass on it to look like weeds over growing.

Yeah cool, that sounds good.... I paint the sand with watered down Bestial Brown which "seals" it on, and then drybrush with Bleached Bone to get a nice "deserty" effect. :)

I must admit that I have not looked at the Chaos list in the Epic Vault for a while, and I assumed that the Black Legion list was in addition to the Chaos one. But, I just had a look and it replaces the original list!

What happened to the beastmen, the cultists, the Land Transporters and everything else. Why did the Chaos list change so completely and dramatically? I am starting to feel that many of the lists are making/have made radical changes with no real reason for it.

Hi!

Things like beastmen, minotaurs and trolls seem to have been relegated to fantasy and are being removed from Epic. I don't like the changes much either but it falls into place with GW's trends of late. I think chaos will become like SM with a touch of demons. Boring.

Primarch.

Chaos is being split into two lists.

The old list had so many formations and units that Jervis broke it into two lists. The first will be the Black Legion list that represents Abbadon's "Black Legion." This list will be more about the Chaos Marines or "SM with a touch of demons" as Primarch put it.

The second will be the "Lost and the Damned" list. It will have more things like the cultists and the daemon engines in it.

Jervis has aslo said by doing this split it will allow him to make some new models for both lists. I do not know if this is a good thing or not as I do not play chaos.

Here is a post where Jervis talks about it:

While I agree that the units that make up a CSM list are like "SMs plus demons," they play differently. ?There is a thread on the playtest board about this even as we speak.

Basically, SMs are faster, have independent fire support, and most importantly, They Shall Know No Fear. CSMs have larger formations of combined arms.

It's possible to take nearly identical lists, but it's also possible to take selections that play very differently and cannot be duplicated by the other.

That said, I strongly dislike the current chaos list for its' lack of character. Black Legion/Abaddon sucks rocks. I may even be tempted to write up a Thousand Sons fan list. :L

Any idea when the 'Lost and the Damned' will surface?

I was planning something special based on it and would really like to see it again. I like the idea of a combined arms force, with a little of everything for Chaos.

I was planning two Chaos forces anyway, one Marine heavy and one with a lot of different stuff, so I guess that this suits me. I just wanted the cultist one first! ?:(

All I can say is don't try to hold your breath ?:) ? Chaos is no longer a priority in terms having its army list hammered out ?:( ? Unfortunately, Chaos is my favorite army ?to play - damn Eldar and Tyranids ?:angry: ?I can't say that I really like the Black Legion list either for a number of reason already mentioned here and on the E:A forum.

IIRC Jervis has mentioned the development of Traitor Legion specific army lists, such as Death Guard. ?:) ?

However, once again any Chaos players shouldn't be holding their breath for fear that they won't live to see the lists. ?:( ?

There is hope yet, it will just require patience, unfortunately I'm fresh out of patience. ?:angry: ?

O.K., there are still five other armies to play with at the moment, three of which are pretty solid in terms of being finalized. I guess I'll survive! :D

So, does this mean that if I put together something (both minis and new rules) based on the previous Chaos list, it will all meet up in the end anyway?

I had forgotten this. So in a way there will be three Chaos lists by the time Jervis is done.
