Hi All, I decieded to put together my new IG sprues with the Epic:A rules/formations (with a few exceptions), and I have a couple of questions: 1) Are Fire Support Teams basically Heavy Weapons Squads? 2) Are Snipers Ratling Snipers Also if Fire Support Teams are Heavy Weapons, why don't we have a Fire Support Company and a Mecanized version??? Cheers Chris |

1. yes (I think), they changed the names a lot in these. 2. see above The heavy weapons come only in platoons to (what I think) reflect the 40K army list. For mechanized, I don't know if the can be put in chimeras for a mechanized company. Don't go by me though, I haven't played a singel game yet. |

Chris, read my comments about "Commissars". Also read the Fanatic News letter Epic 40,000 link, Heavy Weapons for the Guard will be on round bases behind sand bags, but I mentioned this before. I commanded a Mech. Company, a long, long time ago, and maybe Jervis is doing his home work, or thinks he is ![]() ![]() |

1) Yes, you can have a mechanized company of IG. 2) Yes, you can only field heavy platoons in support of a standaard infantry company. 3) Yes, you can mount your heavy support platoons in Chimeras. and, 4) As of right now, the rules have gone to the editors for layout and to get it print-ready. There will be only minor tweaks at this point. Therefore, I do not think there will be any changes to the force organization of IG, SM, or Orks. Hope that helps. |

Well that is interesting news, the project continues, as the editors take a look. I await the final hard copy ... ![]() |

I hope so, but I would expect them to use a lot of the Armageddon3 artwork. Cheers Chris |

I would not mind if they went back and pulled some of the older stuff showing sweeping battles like what is in the old rule books, but I would not want all of the artwork to be old. dafrca |

Yeah that would be cool and interesting, some new pieces would be great too- and are quite possible I reckon, seeing as Necromunda is recieving a "facelift" when it is re-released, with new "grittier" artwork and so on... ![]() |

Well all the Epic rules, I thought, were well done with each getting better with each new release, graphics-wise. E40K's books were quite colorful. With all that being said I'd just be glad to see the rules and the models released, in a timely matter. I'm just too practical, in my old age ![]() |

Pictures of some of the huge sweeping battles on the Ash Wastes of Armageddon would be good, but I think they will mix new and old artwork. Cheers Chris |

Hi! New artwork would be great, but I think its more probable to see "recycled art", since after all they need to keep costs down. I hope for at least a couple of new ones though. Primarch |

Primarch, I think that will depend on the type of agreement they have with the artists. If they bought all rights then it will keep the cost down slightly. If, on the other hand, they only bought one time use rights (a mistake many "small" publishers make because it is cheeper at the start) then they would still need to pay a royalty fee to "re-use" the art. dafrca |

I would think that GW did not make this mistake as they re-use much artwork in WD and Army books, rulebooks etc... But I 'spose Epic 40k is 6 years old now, so this may nt be the case.. guess we will have to wait and see... ![]() |

Stormseer, If a company does this it is because of the cost issue and thus is normaly at the start of their "life" as a company. In any case, I would not mind some of the art, but I want to see pictures of the sweeping battles. I do not need too many of the "close ups". One of the things that made Epic work for me was those images of the massed Orcs and Guard or Space Marines and Chaos going at it. dafrca |
