Hello all, may I first make myself comfortable ( sounds of grots being beaten out of the way and trodden under foot )

Ive noticed from several boards ive been watching that there dont seem to be many orc players .. it seems most go for the stinking umans or ponzy space boys ( and a lot of eldar also ) .. Does anyone play orcs?

Once I find a gaming group in my area I will ofcourse ask you all for help in creating the greatest WWAAGGH anyone has seen in a long time ( I used to play Epic a LLOONNGG time ago ).

Oh and yes Im new here ...  :D

Oh yeah...

I try to make sure my orks always outpoint my other epic  armies. I'm currently finishing off four 'uge gunwagonz mobs, each with 3 supa zzap guns.  Then I'll start on another 40 stands of infantry.

I have 9 Epic Armies, including 30 Ork Warbands in 3 Hordes.  And plan to make a few new Warbands with E:A and F/W models ... :D

Hi Shagrat,
I'm currently working on Eldar, but I've got a soft spot for Moonz and Sunz, and once the pointy ears are done, I'll be working on a small SM force i've got an idea for with Orks in the background. So far I've only ever painted a few battlewagons and the odd Gargant - and 1 converted Landa (LANDA!!!! Green is good and Thundabad is go....oh, sorry, that's and old story... :{ ). I've got loads of boyz waiting in the wings, a half-complete gargant conversion (Deffsta), and around 30 guntrukks... and plans for what I think a supagun should be like...

Markconz, I wish I could paint that fast, it's taking me ages to do my Infantry. Still, only 4 stands left to do, I must get started on them again.

Shagrat:  In addition to the above, Maksim Smelchak has a sizable ork force, including more stompas than you can shake a stick at, with some... imaginative... conversions.

I have ~5000 in bad moons (basic ork army list), ~4000 in evil sunz (speed freeks army list), plus gargants.  I also have ~3000 in snakebites (feral ork list).

In short, you're in good company. :D

Ask any strategic of tactical questions you like.  I'm sure you'll get a plethora of opinions.

4 stands - thats nothing!!  Mind you your paint jobs are very good from the posts I've seen (who paints red eyes on 6mm orks?!?!) :)  

My technique for painting orks fast:
1: Glue in bases...
2: Spray black
3. Big brush, drybrush line of 5 models with mix of shadow grey and black (to give bit more definition to bits which will be left black).
4. Paint shoulder pads a colour (like red)
5. Paint trousers a colour (like brown)
6. Paint flesh (goblin green)
7. Paint guns and backplate (boltgun metal)
8. Paint base brown and flock...

Speaking of step 8 I should be doin that instead of being on here...  :D

I also have large E-A Ork force. I originally wanted enough Stompas and Boyz warbands to field more than 3,000 points of models. I have just kept adding to them (mechanizing them with B-Fs, adding Gun Mobz, more Supa Stompas, custom building Ork Bommas, etc.) and now the group is very large.

I had high hopes the E-A would really make the Orks competitive and a little different than they were before. The differences didn't come, but I think they are adequately competitive although I really miss the early playtest versions when the Orks could field some decent tank armies. They're back to mostly rabble now.

I've been a Gothic player mainly since 1999 but Da Ladz aren't afraid of getting their boots dirty.
I've just got the rulebook and I'm preparing my Ork horde for landings...
