Tony Cottrell has said epic will probably be rescaled, probably titan vs titan and probably heresy era. Fair enough titan on titan, heresy era fine. Rescaling on the other hand could backfire massively. Rescaling titans ok that's good but rescaling troops, tanks etc would be terrible. Essentially gw trying to screw over the 3rd party companies that now make epic usable models |

If they go for 10mm they are gonna be directly competing for market share with Hawk Wargames. Doesn't seem too bad on the surface but then you consider that Hawks 10mm stuff is considered expensive when it costs approx the same as GWs 6mm stuff did when it was axed... And that was after ten plus years of mould cost recouping. It's not like they ever replaced those moulds as thousands of hideous casts I've pulled fresh out of the mail order blister attest to. It would be very amusing to see hawk as the affordable alternative in the 10mm market. Sorry we doubted you hawk! You are in fact cheap compared to the Grandma Wendy's monster! I can't actually see them rescaling due to third parties to be honest. Most of the 6mm proxy manufacturers (obvious exception is obvious, long live the obvious exception!) aren't trading on the GW aesthetic at all and honestly that aesthetic is the only thing that keeps GW in any way a viable proposition. Revamped infantry (ably prototyped by amateurs on this very site) and perhaps true scaled, to the infantry at least, vehicles would be enough to encourage renewed interest in the line in my opinion. It was the big problem with selling EA imho was that the infantry were so low Rez compared to the updated vehicle range. Didn't inspire much "wow, I know what that's meant to be!", in the new bloods. |

Do we really need two separate posts for the exact same subject mate? |

Did he mean rescaling as in bringing them into line with the Infantry and AVs as the Titans were under scaled previously. |

I think that's the long and short of it yeah. It would allow them to reuse gathered expertise in creating approx 40k knight sized models for imperators and intermediate scaled warlords. Added bonus of making current Titan patterns obsolete whilst allowing you to still use the bulk of your current armies. That's just good business, especially if you want to make a fresh start Adeptus Titanicus Mk3 like has been hinted. Edit: L4 beat me to it for the most part. |

I still doubt it'll be a "new epic" and more board game like system focusing on titans. If you see small stuff I think it's going be less likely "Here's a bunch of infantry" and more, here's a squad of Marines in a more abstracted sense. I'd be happy to be absolutely wrong but nothing about this smacks of a return of Epic (still). The bloody system should gave been 3mm from the get go (which interestingly would make the GW titans in scale) Edit: Meaning mechanically less like Epic and more like BaC. |

Epic 40,000's generic name only adds to the confusion. It's easy to imagine that this is the subforum for general Epic stuff, and also easy to overlook "Wargaming Web News" as the place where that should go. |

GW was always going to be GW and screw us over somehow. I had a faint glimmer of hope that maybe the "golden days" of GW being a company you wanted to purchase from were coming back at least a little. But in the words of Fleetwood Mac "oh, well" |
