What kind of models to people use for Demon Engines when there are already things like Defilers as separate entries in a list?

I was thinking that Support Engines could easily be repurposed Basilisk models, but Assault ones I wasn't sure about.

pretty much any/all of the older khorne daemon engines are perfect for the role, I'm fairly sure that's what was envisaged when the unit type was created for E:A

Yeah i think it is just a catch all term for the old demon engines to avoid having to stat them all separately (EA being abstracted, etc.)

Doomblasters, cannons of khorne, and blood reapers for support. Rest for assault.
