Anyone have any experience with these? My thinking is to take all my flyers, especially TRicks and Valks, and use them to stick my AI bases (all my flyers are FW) into to ease playing and traveling with them (since the local center of gaming is now a good 40 minute drive away).

Or are there other suggestions?

What I'm looking for is something stable enough to play with and safe enough to "land" my flyers with.

Do they work with the GW flight stand pegs?

The widget pack came with it's own flight stands so I just used them. I think the acrylic column is slightly wider than the top of GW flight stands. I drilled out the hole slightly to fix the widget onto the bottom of my two Vampire Raiders.

I use them for everything - brilliant, can't get enough!

I use the hawk stands too, but I just checked and they do fit on the old GW stands (especially if you snip the peg on the stand) though the hawk ones are better IMHO and more stable. Don't have any AI I'm afraid so can't help you there unfortunately sorry.

The peg on the wigget is a fair bit bigger than the old GW peg, so yes a bit of filling or snipping down the wigget is required.

Be aware -£5 gets you 40 widgits, not 40 stands. The stands are from about £1 each depending in size (inc widget.)

Not sure why you would need to magnetise? The widget basically allows you to swap model with stand anytime. They also "grip" a little so generally they don't come off.

I have about 6 small and 2 large stands packed with my dice. All my army's fliers are widgeted and then I can use whatever stand I need depending on the size of the model on the day.

Are you guys using metal or acrylic models?

I bought a pack of these medium flyer bases for metal Eldar flyers but they seem so "tip-over-able" that I am thinking of using a relatively short copper rod on a base with a steel bottom in order to keep them from disgracing themselves.

Of course ! :-)

@stormwind. Metal models - there's been a couple of accidents, but generally ok. Though I have just widgeted my e40k thunderhawks and am thinking about cutting down some of the posts a bit... Still, they are at least as stable as the old GW bases.

the AI bases are rather wide and you can pop them apart and weight them down for extra balance :D

Do Wayland Games ship internationally? They are £4.50 there.
