I am willing to spend a little money to make my games look good and be easier to play. I know that Epic used to have order dice from GW, and that you need blast markers to play. I'm willing to buy a bunch of these to represent (1) and (5) blasts: http://www.litko.net/products/Large-Bla ... Pm1SeGjGnQ http://www.litko.net/products/Small-Bla ... 87%29.html But I wonder about other status markers and those dice - does anyone make / sell clear easy to read modern equivalents? I dug up an old thread where berserkmonkey had contacted these guys to make an epic set: http://battlemarkers.com/ Nowadays you can get people to laser cut you acrylic markers at a pretty low price and I'd rather do that than make my own. Thoughts, suggestions, abuse? etc. |

Aside from the BMs, something to mark: Activated, Broken and Overwatch are needed. Maybe March too, although we tend to remember that one easy enough. Void shields and DC we use small dice, crit effects we tend to remember too. Plus: http://the-epic-gamer.blogspot.com/2011 ... -tool.html |

I find my EUK ruler great for quickly proving spacings and ZoC. http://www.bendyboards.co.uk/store/p113/Epic_Gaming_Ruler_.html is a slightly different version of the one produced for last year's GT. |

http://www.litko.net/categories/Customi ... 29-Tokens/ I'm going to try ordering custom orders from here with different shapes and colours: ACTIVATED MARCH OVERWATCH BROKEN And the micro blast markers and the medium ones. The medium ones will be worth 5 blasts each. Also getting the little blue shield markers for void shields. I don't know if they'll be unwieldy or not compared with just using a notepad so just buying one of them to begin with. As you all say, the other status effects are rarer so hopefully as I learn to play I won't need special markers for them. Thank you for your help! |

The only essential item is an equi-probable bounded range number selector. The most convenient and common form being dice and in this case, 6 sided. Even your units can be printed tokens without diminishing the actual game strategy and mechanic (your enjoyment of said game is your own deal). A randomization tool simply can't easy proxy away (dice roller apps are not proxies, just a change of materials ![]() |

EDIT: Sorry, I mistook the tone of your post. Yes your right, I shouldn't worry about not having the right stuff - and should feel free to dive right in. It is nice to have good tools though. I made the order and I'll have enough bits to share with friends. =) |

I think he's just saying: there is one tool you will need to play epic - it's dice. You won't get far without those ![]() |
