Post subject:  Starting Out help

So I am starting out on an Epic Imperial army. Not sure which list to use to show a generic force. I will be using the exodus wars prefects as I love arbites and I want to fit those in as my force. Which list should I use as the base? Basically the prefects would be infantry with the shield ones being assault/shock troops the bikes as rough riders/bikes then tanks, artillery maybe a titan. etc.

Thanks for any help you all can provide. I am pretty sure the local scene here in NH/MA plays the NetEA rules as I saw them using the GW book at the shop.

Hiya and welcome!

The Steel Legion list was the first one created and is pretty generic. It's pretty powerful too, so not a bad start. Other lists place more emphasis on certain units. (like a tank list)

A good start with Steel legion would be two infantry companies (one mechanised), a leman russ company and an artillery battery. That will get you a taste of the game and you can add more supporting units as you please. (like super heavy tanks, titans)

Hope this helps!

Hi Tyrela, welcome on board.

I love your ideas on the minis and list, as Engmir said Steel Legion would be a good start. I would also recommend that you download the Net E:A rules and lists (both are free). See the Net E:A section of this forum for those.

Chimeras will carry 2 regular units, unless Ogryns.

Happy gaming.

Some of the rules have been clarified with an integratd Q&A. Besides that some points values, and abilities have been slightly altered. It's an ongoing proces of review and playtesting. Check out the rest of this site for more info :-)

Yeah the tournament pack has rules and integrated FAQ on the relevant pages. It's really great, but the core rules are the same as in the GW book.

The armylist on the end differ slightly from th GW book, but only minor things like points cost etc.

You can find it here
