The guys and I are planning on doing a big battle day on the 18th: 2 teams 5-7 tables worth various amounts of points 6k armies at the end of the day we total up the table points for each team to see which one won We'll be doing the standard Epic tournament game scenario on a few tables, but 2-4 of them will be one of the attached scenarios. Escalating Engagement is out of the EA rulebook, I just updated it a bit. Encounter is from Dirtside II, I've played it twice a couple of years back and it's a lot of fun. Enjoy. Attachment:

The Escalating engagement looks a cool idea. Suggest you might want to add some clarification about how close formations and units can get to the entry point where enemy formations are arriving from off-table. Otherwise you may find some "interesting" situations occurring where a combination of planetfalling and air-transports place their contents right on the specified entry point . . . . ![]() |

I assumed it be like ZoCing a portal, the formation has to engage. |

well . . . I guess that depends on whether the unit placed on the edge is considered to be an actual unit or not. And if not, whether the entry point can be occupied and blocked like a portal . . . . Since it is not a "portal", you might want to allow the affected formation to arrive at the nearest point on the table edge that is outside the enemy ZoC (or to engage the enemy etc) - about the only thing they cannot do is shoot. |
