In a recent game this came up...

When infantry are in a building, and the building gets hit with BP, how do you determine how many are hit by the barrage?

In our game we said all troops in the building were hit as soon as the template touched any part of the building , even just the corner. Did we do it right?

It seemed right at the moment, but now I can't find a rule...

Any unit under.the template take a to hit roll. The presence of a building just means they may have an increased cover save (provided the barrage wasn't Ignore Cover )

Bear in mind that E:A doesn't have any rules for buildings, just for area terrain. :(

Is this actually a netepic question?

Normally in E:A you place units on buildings to show they're inside, if they're inside then its probably better to remove the building before placing the template, as Jimmy says, you'll get a cover save and -1 to hit penalty but that's it

Thanks for the responses :)

The issue is stemming from the fact that we aren't using flat topped epic buildings. I got some excellent 3D printed skyscraper type buildings. They are fairly narrow and can't fit more than 5-6 stands on top, however they look like an 'uge' formation of orks could easily fit inside.

My group are also all warhammer fantasy players, in that game a template touching a building hits everything inside, that's likely where we got confused. Sounds like we'll need to make a house rule for these. Thanks again!

I'd house rule specifically for those buildings that are trouble (narrow and tall). Standard stuff to cover un the 5 minute warm-up

3D printed buildings, please tell me.more :)

Ya sounds right to me.

The buildings are great! I have a buddy who has access to a printer at his work. He knows WAY more about all this than I do...but basically...

There are loads of websites where people upload 3D printer blueprints they've made, free for download and personal use. We got some sim-city buildings someone had posted and using an editor (also free online) scaled them up to a good size.

Since printing off these my buddy has been using these free editors to make his own custom buildings for epic. More square and flat topped with gothic-style arches.

But like I said I know very little about the process. A little google searching will get you to these sites, they're great. Even if you don't have access to a 3D printer there are loads of companies online that take print jobs. With eBay and swap meets being the only source of epic buildings 3D printing seems like the way to go.

I was blown away by those buildings and they make the table look great. I basically harassed a fellow player in my group into printing off another set for me :) So far I just dry brushed them grey. Considering battle damage and or imperial icons / banners to make them look a tad more 40k.
