Is it just me who would love to have optional addendums / expansions to the major army lists?

For example:

Space Marine Adeptus Astartes - Would be nice to be able to field Thunderhawk Transporters, choose your own titan weapons incl. Corvus Assault pod with Terminators for example.

Eldar - incl. Eldar knights.

Steel Legion Imperial Guards - rules for Leviathans and Capitol Imperialis

It would be fun to have a one page addendum with optional choices following each major army list to complete the lists with more of the older (and newer) models and make the lists more complete. I would prefer this followed the army lists themselves in the NetEA compendium.

Sure one can grab it from other lists or make your own rules, but I would love to have it as part of the compendium, at least as optional rules following each of the major lists.

Could be a good idea. It could do with points and being a very clearly marked (with an 'Unofficial! Use at own risk!' warning) add-on section of optionals at the end so as to seperate it from normal lists.

I could see it getting somewhat over a page though. Just for SM I'd want to see TH Transporter, Siege Dreadnoughts, Ironclad Dreadnoughts, Caestus Assault Rams, LR Helios, LR Archilles, LR Redeemer, LR Prometheus, LR Cruader, Damocles, Spartan, Rapier, Tarantula, Storm Eagle, Storm Talon, LS Storm, LS Tempest, Assault Terminators, Sternguard Veterans, Vanguard Veterans, Honour Guard. Perhaps a few more too, but those should definitely be in there IMO.

So a bit like the appendix at the back of the main Epic Armageddon rulebook for older models?

Not opposed to the idea, but if it gets a 'NetEA sanction' it will dilute the attraction of the various sublists. Why bother with Blood Angels if you can have Baal Predators and Storm Ravens in the Codex list? Personally, I think things like this are best left to houserules – for example, my group uses the rules for the weapons actually on our Titan models (using the AMTL list for the points and rules), rather than the standard weapon layout.

My point is that you can already mix the models, rules and points from different lists, and you don't need an 'official sanction' to do so – just discuss it with your mates :)

Having a sanction for what should be (in my opinion) a friendly decision, gives it an odd air of semi-officialdom; and since all the development we do here is already non-official, it just seems to muddy the waters unnecessarily.

I understand and see your point. But I guess this is where we differ a little. I think a Capitol Imperialis should be available for the standard guard lists or that a TH transporter should be available for vanilla lists and not just some variants. Why can't the main guard list field all the superheavy tanks (storm blades etc.). Also I think titan weapons should be more readily available for all the lists that field titans.

Everything is possible in friendly games, but I would love to have an addendum for each vanilla list with these older or more differentiated models..

:geek

edit: Ultimately I will probably have to devise my own supplement lists come some dark sinister Scandinavian winter, but I would love some one else to do the work for me... I mean, a semi-official list that everyone can download when they download the EA compendium...

Maybe it could just be a seperate document if there are concerns it could muddy the waters of the compendium. Doing it would be the main thing.

Storm Ravens are now used by all chapters, Blood Angels would still have Baal Predators, Death Company and CC Dreadnoughts to differentiate them.

Didn't E&C make a document for using different titan weapon configurations in non-AMTL imperial lists at some point? (don't have a link, but i think it was done?)

Here you are. I strongly support those amendments. Leviathan in Steel Legion? Very well, go.

Along those lines I've kept an up to date collection of units discussed on the boards but that for various reasons are not or will not be part of any official lists.
