I've seen this in other forums, and it would be a lot more effective if you explained it in the introductory post - and I'm not talking about a fluff explanation.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand this at all?

Just a copy and paste from the SG boards as a favor. I'll ask them to get some more info.

The first part seems easy enough. It appears to be a "worldwide battle" of the sort GW used to run. Everyone sends in battle reports, and the faction with the highest score wins. No attempt to equal out the number of participants for each faction

The odd part is that you seem to get more points if you write a fluff introduction to the battle for your side. I'm not sure how that works since I'm not sure how the sponsors are going to be able to let you weave your battle into their narrative ahead of time

It essentially the same as the WHFB based online campaigns (I am part of the team that runs the Bugmans Brewery dwarf based ones).

With the fluff aspect, players tend to make the fluff either very specific (dealing with a particular character in a particular battle) or very generic (dealing in borad terms with what the army is up to) That way the gm's can weave aspects of the fluff into the overall narrative without changing things.

I also expect the narrative is going to be improvisational to a large degree. I still remember participating in the Eye of Terror campaign which was pretty badass.

Yeah, although the people running it will have a rough idea of what will happen, often the players actions mean that the storyline evolves over the course of the campaign.

I'm playing epic this evening, can't hurt to submit results, although I think it may get a bit samey..... "lost 4-0 to dptdexys, lost 4-0 to Steve54, lost 4-0 to miket, lost 4-0 to kev101.... etc etc...." :D

LOL! Not with your new-found Panic Buys crowding the table. Victory is assured!

I feel your pain Kyussinchains! I've had my fair share of batterings as well of late! But we all know it's not the winning but the being taken apart that counts!

well as expected, last night was indeed a 4k, 4-0 kicking from Kev101..... however it was more to prove a point that the current EUK AMTL list is perhaps a [i]teeny tiny[i] bit overpowered.... ;)
