Not to necro too much inside this thread but just pre-ordered a huge pile of Planetfall blisters from Spartan Games for my nephew. He was about to jump onto the epic bandwagon after watching my game on Sunday; Instead he's going to play this now. When it finally arrives I'm going to take a picture of him holding it all and mail it to Games Workshop signed "your ex-customers".

Petty? yes. Are they going to care? probably not. Is it cathartic? Immensely


Please update on this after it happens :D

Very curious to see what they look like next to more familiar figures - I can't get a feel for their size from the pictures/renderings I've seen.

carlisimo109, splash and S'cipio - I don't mean to be pessimistic, but I placed an order for 6 packs of I.G. Ragnaroks through my local gaming store in mid-December of last year. Within a couple of days, the US G.W. site listed that Ragnaroks would take 7-9 weeks for re-stock. 9 weeks came and went and I heard nothing new because the store owner was told that they were on back-order. I hadn't paid for them yet, so I just let the issue drop. I hope all of you get what you ordered, but I wouldn't put much faith in G.W. saving the day...I fully agree with others on this thread, that we should tap the many talents of our members to create proxies to fill the void left by G.W. Rather than letting G.W. "shat" on us with it's final grand gesture of indifference, we at Taccom should take control of our hobbies' future with model-makers and collectors giving a big, defiant middle finger to the SOB's.

Jordan - EW is Exodus Wars (see exoduswars.com, or the subforum in here). It's another sci-fi model range in 6mm scale. Good stuff. Until recently it was only models, no rules, but they're fixing that.

uberChris - I agree. I canceled the drop pods and shortly after I got confirmation that the rest of the order had shipped. Should've ordered sooner! I thought this might happen, but around July when they usually raise prices and make big changes (like introducing Finecast). Price hikes come with website warnings…. I thought we might get one of those. The website now has drop pods as 5-6 weeks out, but don't worry, I'm not a believer.

Two panic orders placed. This is a sad day, but one that has been forcasted for awhile. I'm actually surprised it took this long. Like many others have said EW, Microworld Games, and many others here can keep 6mm scifi gaming alive and thriving.

Really sad to see epic go and shame about specialist games more generally. I started reading white dwarf when warhammer quest was released, following this every 6 months (or was it every year) was Necromunda, 2nd ed space hulk, gorkamorka, epic 40K. A true golden age and it is a shame new people well not experience such wonderful games.

Well, some of the FW items that were out of stock last (Swedish) night, was back in place this morning (Thunderbolts, Lightnings etc). Managed to get my hands on those models. There may be more left.

I saw this happen last night whilst making an order, bought some of the missile lightnings and when I placed the order the non-missile lightnings had returned. Been carefully watching the website and don't think anything else has come back in stock so far beyond thunderbolts and lightnings.

AFAIK this is because FW doesn't have a live stock system, there is a lag of a few hours before things are updated, so they keep several items back to fulfil orders in the 'lag' period......

Its because their stock system isn't live it lags by an hour or 2, so when an item gets to 5/6 on the computer it liets as out of dtock to cover sales in the past hour

Yeah the Vampire raider & Phoenix went out of stock after I made my order yesterday evening(decided to go for it) the phoenix is back now. Edit: and now I see why ^^

Glad I got a Manta for my Christmas last year!

No more Thunderhawks is very dissapointing. I lost one wing Twin Heavy Bolter and wanted to have at least one complete Thunderhawk.
