Not anymore - I just phoned to try and grab one but seems I was too late :(

out of curiosity, if GW no longer produce miniatures at 6/10/whatever mm scale, does this open the door for a company like FFG to produce them? they make GW designs for HH and chaos in the old world, I always assumed they couldn't licence epic or warmaster due to GW making models, if GW no longer makes the models, could FFG theoretically make their own 6mm range of GW-licenced models and release a new game?

No. GW is willing to give out licenses if miniatures aren’t involved; board games with miniature-like tokens are okay, as long as they aren’t compatible with their tabletop games. But they’ll never license actual miniatures – people here have asked them. Besides, I’m not sure the market is big enough for a company of FFG’s size.

I kept looking at the Warmaster pages hoping that the Greater Daemon of Nurgle figure would pop back to being available (For a Greatuer Unclean One). It hasn't, but now I notice that the Greater Daemon of Khorne has been completely struck from the page.

I don't notice any missing Epic bits yet, but this might be the first piece of the SG pages disappearing altogether.

Somehow I find this a bit sad. We will see how many old ones will drop out. Right now, everything is pure speculation. I prefer to look upon this in a more positive way.

I won't be dropping out, I just won't be completing any of the army changes, and additional purchases that I had planned to play EA properly. I'll just stick to playing second edition/Net Epic, since I have more than enough models to do this.

I think this is the mind set that any new players (and even some long term players) will need to loose, if the epic community is too survive, if it wants to remain as it is now or to even grow, other wise it could end up being just a handful of older timers.

I totally get that people, like yourself, already have heavy GW invested armies, and why you wouldn't want proxies mixed in when you have a distinctive look for you force.

But keeping people interested in the scale, I think there needs to be promotion to the proxies, otherwise it will just become stale, especially with out any new models! ( I think that ever gamer, new and old, suffers from shiney syndrome!)

Just for the record, I'm not suggesting that proxies shouldn't be promoted. Indeed new players who don't know any different may like them much more than some of us who've been around for an age do, so it could be argued that you're more likely to persuade them to get on board than you are to get veterans to change :).

I guess we new it was coming, but they should really have had the decency to warn a bit in advance.

I recently moved city and have asked around on the two biggest local miniatures gaming clubs sites after epic players. Epic seems rather dead so I was planning to do come introductory games. This makes things rather difficult. It will be hard to get new players into the game now...

Btw I just bought a pack of FW warhounds so they're still available.

THIS!

I am truly disgusted that GW discontinues whole ranges of products and no longer supports these games without a proper prewarning. When I realized they were discontinuing all this I tried to put in a few large orders but several important pieces were out of stock.

So much for respect for their customers. I think a month in advance giving customers a chance to order any missing bits would have been the least they could do.

Some stuff has already gone from the Oz store too, e.g. BFG Planetkiller, and Dark Eldar escorts gone from UK store last time I checked.

I'm still debating whether to make a final order for Epic and BFG stuff. In particular to finish off a Chaos BFG fleet and get another box of Epic Chaos plastics. The thing is that for the price of a couple of Battleships bought from GW here, I could instead order an enormous complete fleet from Ground Zero Games or Spartan Games!! Ground Zero Games has just remastered there Space Fleets so that is tempting. Already bought two fleets from Dark Realm in last couple of months... Certainly these other companies deserve my money more than GW!

Is there any word on the plastic infantry being discontinued or is it just the metal and FW stuff?

Curious. I wonder what the functional difference is between "no longer available" and "deleted from the web page". Some of the "no longer available" stuff has been gone since before the vanished stuff ran out of stock.

Actually that went away ages ago. My friend wanted to get it and missed it.
