Thanks. I didn't have a chance to do it last week and I've been on vacation this one.

So there is a dead link in the "Game Aids" section of the site. It been dead for a while now, so I imagine you are aware, but I just thought I'd flag it up now that it's been dead long enough that it looks to be permanent.

That's a shame. If it's moved I can't find it, so I will remove it.

Real shame I only got a couple of the army cards printed out. Does anyone have some copies they downloaded just in case something like this happens?

Sent from mobile.

I'm finding that a lot of new players in Facebook groups or 4chan/tg are finding the site and calling the game Net Epic, leading to confusion with veteran players to whom "Net Epic" (NetEPIC?) basically means 2nd ed. There also seem to be a number of returning 2nd ed. players who are being brought back by the 28mm Horus Heresy books, and they're actually looking for NetEPIC and then the confusion gets pretty bad. Explaining it over and over again is getting frustrating.

Is no one else seeing that happen? If not, then never mind me. If so, I'd be tempted to drop all references to "Net Epic Armageddon" and stick with the NetEA abbreviation or use "Net Armageddon".

no i'm right there with you. I spend a lot of time trying to correct people saying things like "i play net epic armegedon" due to that exact confusion. However it's not all in a name either. I'm seeing a ton of people getting back in that only ever played one edition and extrapolating those concepts onto other editions (cards being the first question if they started in 2nd) due to the strangeness of the versions of epic really being complete reboots each time.

I'll have to read up on how cards worked... I assume they were equivalent to each available formation in EA army lists?

More on-topic, what's the extent of NetEA's involvement in the rules themselves? Did NetEA write the Oct. 2009 ("v2"?) changes to the core rules?

No, GW did. The rules are the rules pretty nuch everywhere. The 5-minute warmup covers the discrepancies.

And the reason for the net-armageddon domain name is to avoid any chance it would be perceived as "passing off" (infringing games workshop trademarks).

However I do think the site could do better to explain things but thats up to the ERC.

I noticed in the chaos, black legion army list (in the tournament pack) the spacecraft refer to chaos thunderhawks but the army list seems to have no option for thunderhawks is the just an oversight or are thunderhawks available?

Other lists have them. It allows for.a.single unit entry to get used without needing to customize it repeatedly for ever sub variant. Think of it this way: The cruiser can carry tbricks irrespective of the fact they might not happen to have any onboard right then... Yeah?

Thunderhawks are in the Emperor's Children list.

Ummm not sure if this is the best place for it but noticed that the copy of the Raiders 2.0 PDF on the NetEA website for download is still the one lacking the cover. I couldn't find the old thread from years ago where we discussed getting this fixed (and thought we had) but evidently not. Regardless, how about replacing the one on the website with this one linked here instead?
